  1. This is common when fitting the voltage buffer. The dealer is not given enough time to disconnect the battery and then faf around getting a radio code so the module is fitted live! Normal symptoms are not being able to program additional keys and the time resetting after the igntion has been off for a few minutes. The WDS actually has help text in the key programming section referencing checking this fuse as this has caused many concerns.
  2. Ford probably do an electric kit for it. Finis 1225132 Just over £100 to non employees.
  3. Very easy to do. Just add the bits for the cruise switches and then get the option turned on by the dealer with WDS. The dealer will need to program the PCM, PJB and HEC. (He'll know what they are.)
  4. May work but this may only be related to the traffic announcement volume. I did have a chat to Visteon about this over 6 months ago. They thought it was a good idea.
  5. No. This is a design feature. And a right pain in the bottom. This radio is fitted to a few different Ford models.
  6. Original Focus 99 C170 & 02 C170 CMax C214 Focus II C307 Convertible S389 SMax CD340 Why?
  7. You have to remove the cluster. I think there are two screws accessible when you remove the cowling above the steering column. The cluster will then tilt forward from the top.
  8. You can reduce the number of chimes by a menu option in the cluster. If you really hate the sound the buzzer is located in the back of the cluster. We've found a lump of blue tac works wonders.
  9. There were some instrument clusters that due to tollerances did run slow as can be seen by the TSB that MT published above. The Software update should have resolved this. Your next problem is how to persuade the dealer to change the cluster for a new one under warranty? If it failed then they'd have to change it. If you know what you are doing this could ba accomplished :)
  10. I think you're all getting a little off topic. Is the clock always 2 minutes slow or is it correct for a period of time and gradually looses time? Do you still have the RDS update software on your cluster/radio? If so try setting the clock and then ensure that you are not tuned to a radio station that transmitts RDS. Or try a different station. Does the clock now keep time? I did initially have trouble setting the clock ona Maxi i borrowed. It was not intuitive how to set it and I actually introduced an error myself doing the set process. Try setting the time a couple of mintes fast? T
  11. What you need to realise is that the readings are averaged over a time period / number of drive cycles. It is this that causes most people to think that the readings are wrong.
  12. Amazing what you can do with a capacitor and possibly a resistor or diode!
  13. Hmm. Back to what I said in a previous post. I knew they were thinking about this almost a year ago but didn't realise that it had actually gone ahead.....
  14. A rather unique vehicle I believe.....
  15. One beep and flash? Thats strange. See what's in the alarm stack. I wonder if the PJB is resetting. Maybe a module failure. The thing that worries me is the loss of comms between the alarm siren and the PJB. Was this due to you unplugging the connector or a genuine fault? PJB=GEM=CEM=BCMii Same meat different gravy!
  16. EGR valves in general are prone to problems due to the nasty sticky goo that builds up in them.
  17. The EGR valve changed in internal size. This means that the ECU software will need to be changed to suit it. You've got PSA to blame for this. For once not a Ford designed part... ;)
  18. 12,000. Should be free enough by now  Ask them to see if the ECU has the latest software.
  19. Give the car a chance. It's new and needs to bed in / free up a bit. Also do your calculations on a brim to brim basis. You can't have covered enough miles to do this.
  20. Mastertech, That's what you think..... :) My description of what is causing the fault is correct and you are right in the possible fix.
  21. Or a tired battery combined with cold weather high current cranking.
  22. I'm not sure if the Maxi has OCS. But it's difficult to tell when an airbag should or shouldn't deploy just by looking. What, on the surface may look bad, may not have had sufficiently high impact forces to trigger the system. If anything was wrong on the system it is designed to shut down and display the warning lamp. I would not suspect that the dealer did anything incorrect. And as said above the main thing is than no one was injured. The car is just a piece of metal.
