  1. Frag - The two are different animals... I wouldn't be surprised if it's that different.
  2. WDS could configure it but I don't believe the option will be present. This is because the vehicle would have had it's insurance safety ratings determined with the belt minder active. To disable it would make the vehicle not as homologated. If a Ford dealer did this then they would be liable....Sorry. There is a manual process but i'm not sure of the exact procedure. Well done snowman...
  3. Link the buckle switch wiring to make it think you have the belt on?
  4. If only Ford had control over the dealers. But alas they are seperate companies and tend to do what they feel!!! I was under the impression that Ford paid the dealers to fix any faults that were found during the PDI. This is exactly what it is for. As for passing on a PDI sheet detailing all the faults. That's just plain stupid! No vehicle is perfect when it leaves the factory and has suffered the delivery process. BUT by the time the customer sees it it should have been thouroughly checked out and indeed be as described on the packet.
  5. This is only the cluster firmware version. You'll need a diagnostic tool to check the PCM calibration.
  6. Don't think there's anything amazing on the CD sorry... :(
  7. No problem. The CD will be in the dealers in about 2 months time. I'm glad you managed to persevere to the end.... :P
  8. Chris, You will be able to turn on the cluster lamp as from the WDS CD37 release. It'll be an option under the "speed items" menu. Steve.
  9. As long as you have 2 already programmed keys you can try the customer key learn procedure to add a third. As to whether you will be able does not apply to the actual date the car was built but other factors such as if it's been repaired at all in it's life and a new instrument cluster has been fitted. The passive entry system does not need a mechanical key to operate the vehicle. So I doubt you've got this system. One thing you may whish to keep in the safe also is the 5 digit key number. This will be needed if you manage to loose all of your keys......
  10. See the sticky in the security section. Depending upon when your Maxi was built you may still be able to program it yourself if you have 2 keys already.
  11. The software update removes this feature. This is intentional.
  12.    Must be the way you tell 'em.....
  13. None whatsoever sorry. Different Instrument cluster, steering lock, PJB, remote control receiver, KVM module, door locks, latches and handles, and additional 7 antennas!! Not to mention the wiring between them. Steve.
  14. Yep. The ignition switch looks normal except for the "flyer" around its opening. Very similar to the thing you used to see on american vehicles. You won't get stranded.
  15. Ron, I won't go into too much technical detail but to operate the vehicle you have a keyless remote that looks very similar to the Ghia Flip Key without the flip blade. It still has the remote buttons so that you can lock/unlock in the normal manner if you wish. With this device in your pocket you can walk up to the vehicle and pull on a door handle to open it. It'll then open. What happens is when you pull the handle the car sends out a signal to the device in your pocket which then responds with the correct code. The handle is then unlocked and the door can open. If you wish to lock
  16. I've worked on the keyless entry system. What do you need to know?
  17. Finger and toes crossed. Remember what I said about the service replacement PJB type....
  18. Sounds like the effects of a dead battery. Once the battery is dead jump leads are usually unsuccessful unles they are very thick on a diesel..... Keep us informed.
  19. If you didnt have to do the wiring then the reprogramming would only take 1/2 hour tops. But you'll have to add on the fitting of the stalk and changing the GEM/PJB. Still not too difficult a task.
  20. Chris, You will need the high spec PJB. Not sure if a Cx suffix will do but definately one with a Dx suffix. (x=any letter). The Dx is the service replacement for all PJB's The dealer will then have to enable criuse in two modules. The PCM and the GEM(PJB) using the WDS. If the wiring is not there then it wouldn't be too large a task to get the circuit working. The TIS disk wiring diags are probably mandatory for this operation. Steve.
  21. Last TIS was 04..... There are no more being produced.....
  22. Assuming you mean 99 or 02 focus then yes you can program each remote to either vehicle but the immobiliser chips in the key are different. See sticky in security section.
