The trick to the locking mechanism is where the cable goes into the mechanism try to remove the gromit and tap the inside of the mechanism with a long thin screwdrive and a hammer. This should knock the cable and lock back into place and you should be able to unlock the bonnet. Hope this makes sense. stuart

What i got mine from Tezza and a set of discs fitted for less than that all in. Was that at a Ford garage by any chance.

Just wondering why would you want to turn off a safety feature in your car?

Coming into the colder weather i have startd to use the heated front and rear heated screen to de mist the windows. I have noticed quite a significant drain on power when this happens ie the lights dip quite a bit and the air con fan slows. Is this common and does this happen with anyone else? stu

Forgot to say you need to work the rubber gromit loose first but this should only take a couple of seconds. And no problem that is what the forum is all about :D :D :D

THe mechanism just taps back into plaec very easily. Just use a long thin screwdriver that can fit betweetn the holes in the grill, look for a hole just above the badge and follow the mechanism back to the latch and tap lightly with a hammer. This should push the lock mechanism back into place. It is a wee bit fidly but saves taking it to a garage or breaking the grill.

My car lowered 30-35mm on Eibachs with 18inch alloys. Offset makes them stick out a wee bit more from under the arches but no issues with rubbing or anything. Also Dont have any problems with the ride of the car only over really rough parts of road. Driving normaly i would probably say it was better on the lowering prings and low profile tyres as it doesnt wallow about as much into corners or even in cross winds.

Thats what i was going to do but now thinking of a mk1 RS instead.

On the other hand if you buy a titanium and put in the ST interior, the interior would be a good upgrade for somone who has the standard cloth interior so if you sold that after fitting you would get some of your money back.

Titanium would be the Ghia of old i believe. I have an 05 plate Titanium and it is pretty nice and quick enough 143bhp if i am not wrong. oh forgot to say it is a 2lt

By the looks of the picture you should also be using the jack plug connection as well to get the sound.

It was tested using a battery tester at my local HiQ garage. The guy said that the battery was fine and it just needed charging.
