Sorry forgot to add, the car is 1.8 Zetec petrol. yes i can quite easily sort an oil change, I only asked the question as its always best to ask those that may have done it before. I dont doubt that if I start the job it will all become apparent, just thats is easier to check before hand.

My 1.8 Zetec c-max is serviced regulary every 12months by Ford. I dont change the oil for the 12month duration. The car has approx 20000 miles on it, of these we have only added approx 6000 over a 20 month period that we have owned it, so as you can see we it only does short journeys. My question is that today after checking the oil i thought it smelt like it had petrol in it. Should i change the oil immediately or wait for the routine yearly ford service.
