  1. Thanks for all this. I wonder whether ic could be related to the vacuum system, as the problems (apart from the hesistation when cold) are an engine shudder when switching off and turbo lag...which could also affect the EGR valve....any thoughts?
  2. Any thoughts guys....when i drive the car from cold, no matter what gear I am in, the car is 'jerky' (as if it's getting too much fuel..and is running a bit rough) and hesitant on a light throttle. (the car idles ok..) While driving, if I put my foot down, the problem disappears...until I go back to a light throttle. However, when the car warms up, the car is fine and runs perfect . According to the Ford dealer, the fault is not showing up on the machine and therefore can’t do anything further! I'm at a total loss......any ideas?
  3. Thanks guys. How can I remove the radio from the dash...do I need a special tool from fraud?
  4. Thanks. Have checked the manula but as far as I can see, there's no additional functions or settings...unless I'm missing something. Just checked the radio manula for the code, and guess what...it hasn't been written down. Any ideas where I can get it from? I have the address of the supplying dealer...would they know?
  5. no..uk registered. Speakers are also in the back. I just wonder if the speaker connections were ever connected to the radio...how can you remove the radio from the dashboard?
  6. Thanks Andy. Tried that, but when I press it, I get Balance, then press it again,it goes back to the screen for the radio station.
  7. Hi..I've just noticed that my car has no sound coming out of the speakers in the rear of the car (Zetec). When I look at the manual, it syas press the fad/balance button. When I do this, I get balance but no fade (for putting it to the front/rear). The speakers in the front work: any ideas? Thanks
  8. Just an update...got the car back today...was a software fault! The PCM was re-programmed and the car is running like it should. Fuel economy has increased from mid 40's to mid 50's...same type of driving and routes taken each day. Not sure if it was a new update to software or one that the car should have had done in the past.
  9. Thanks...will update evryone when it gets looked at...Hope they get it sorted.
  10. Hi...our 2.0tdci has started to play up. When we start the car cold, the idle speed hunts (about 200 rpm+/-). When you rev, it runs rough. Take it for a drive, and the car moves off fine, but becomes jerky (about 1700 rpm to 2200), as if it is getting too much fuel or something to do with fuel mixture. I guess all the cars now are ECU controlled for fuel mixture, but any thoughts as to what could be causing it? It's also the same, but not as bad, when the car is warm/hot..starts fine, idles fine (no hunting), move off and it gets hesitant at about 1700rpm...bit jerky and then if you put your f
  11. Many thanks...had a go this morning...wonderfully simple.
  12. Hi...our bulb in the headlamp blew today and I was going to change it...manual says I need to take lamp unit out...take torx screw off then clips off...can't believe this! Does anyone know how easy this is to do, and how many clips and how do I take the clips of? I don't want to pay Fraud for the pleasure of putting in a new bulb!
  13. Hi...how do I know when my car was built? It was registered 04/2004, but could have been built in 2003. Will Ford provide the date of build if I give them the VIN number or is there a website that has that information. Cheers
  14. Hi...I've seen a number of posts about the EGR and DFM going on TDCI. What are they? How do you know if they are going? Where abouts i the EGR located (2.0tdci)...any pics? What worries me a bit is the EGR failing and your car can't start or won't drive...if that happens, is there anyway to get the beast driving again until you get it repaired?
