  1. thanks for the advice chaps. The car was bought from a 'car supermarket' rather than a dealer and I was not able to force the issue of the missing second key (which only emerged after I had paid a deposit). Harpo - when you say that Ford now have to get involved re programming to get past the immobiliser, is that on new cars or will it still apply to my '05 ?, as I suspect that with the costs of the key on Ebay plus a ford 'programming charge', I may as well pay the dealers price. thanks
  2. Took my recently purchased 05 2.0 TDCI Ghia in for its second service yesterday and was quoted £140 + VAT for a second key (as a spare did not come with the car at the time of purchase) !!. Is this right or can anyone point me in the direction of a cheaper alternative ? Had a quick look and found some on Ebay but was not sure if these were the right ones (ghia, black key fob with three buttons & flip out key) or how reputable the sellers were ? Any help greatly appreciated. thanks
  3. Hello all, I am collecting my 05 2.0 TDCI (27k) Ghia tomorrow and reading this forum has terrified me !!. Reading all the posts about the EGR issue, how can I tell whether the car I am collecting (from a car supermarket) has had the EGR replaced and which software release it has ? Can I just take it into a dealer and ask them to check and if it has not been done, replace it for free ? (still under warranty). Also, to try and allay my fears of losing power in the outside lane of the M6, are there any 05 Ghia owners out there who have not had EGR problems ??? Any help would be greatly appr
