Hi madmp3, it's a petrol engine. I never knew about the "Hot Run Test" : at least I now won't have to change the oil immediately. It was the *first* oil change I was interested in, because I own a 2003 Focus Estate which has always had 6 monthly oil changes. From what you say, I'll carry on with that for the new Focus. Hi. Next week I will be buying my wife a pre-reg Focus which is six months old and covered 50 miles, all of them short test drives where the engine won't have warmed up properly. My question is, for long engine life given it's "history" when should I get the first oil change ? Immediately, after 1500 miles, or after 6 months ? Any thoughts appreciated. Incidentally, her previous car was also a Focus which was written off in a 70mph mororway accident. The car took a terrible pounding but my wife & daughter came out of it safely thank goodness. I can think of no better replacement than anoth
