  1. Its now been finally diagnosed as Alternator & Battery - 380 quid.....! Could be worse I suppose.
  2. Hi CMAXCOL, I meant 1000+ if it was the fuel pump. Can anyone clarify that if the car doesn't start and is then jump started fine then it can't be a fuel pump issue?
  3. I know, if the AA man jumped the battery then it can't be the fuel pump surely?? Fuel wouldn't get to the engine power or not if that was the cae surely. I'm hoping not as I suspect its well over a grand to fix. Plus I haven't had any other engine related problems.
  4. Oh well, just phoned Fords, car went in on friday and they have only just got round to having a brief look at it and the message I got was "could be a problem with the fuel pump"?? Which confuses me as when the AA man turned up he just jump started the battery and it started fine. If it is the fuel pump I assume thats expensive then?
  5. If it is the Alternator do you reckon I should complain as the car is now out of warranty, surely an Alternator shouldn't go after 3 years?
  6. Hi all, for the last week or so my 54 2.0 TDCI was making a slighty strange whiny noise when accelerating at low speeds, nothing too bad. Then after visiting the shops today, the car seemed to have a problem starting, all the ignition lights came on and it made a clicky sound then started but advised of a "Power Steering failure" and none of the rev counters or speedos worled for a while, continued to drive and it went away. I then got it home, parked it, tried to start it and nothing. When you attemped to start it it makes a clicking sound from the electrics but no engine firing. The rad
