  1. Doesn't seem to be particularly metallic in sound, although very difficult to say, so what's the scoop with seat base strut then? Cheers Pete
  2. That's interesting, better check there also, cheers for that mate. Cheers Pete
  3. Noticing that when turning right into my drive (slight slope but nothing much) seem to get what could be described as a sort of creaking sound or at least something moving creating a noise like this, it seems to be more noticeable when driver's window is closed , so wondering if , as the panels are flexing slightly could it be glass movement inside the door/frame? Anyone else get similar? Cheers Pete
  4. Interestingly enough I have been reading a couple of articles, with regards to water getting into the spark plug areas (between the cams as it were) and in one case blew the plug out of the head , I guess due to the plugs sitting in water causing corrosion etc, seemed to be more so with the 1.6 engine , just interested to know if any one else has heard of this or has had the problem? ; had a quick look at mine, just to see what could cause this and only thing I suspect is; if it's raining excessively or a pressure washer is used when cleaning the car , there is a chance of water getting past t
  5. Yet another question for you guys; anyone know the torque setting for sump bolt on the 1.6 Duratec engine? Cheers Pete
  6. Cheers mate , that's what I thought, how much do they charge round your way for 5L of it, ours wants £24. Cheers Pete
  7. What engine oil are you guys using in your Mk2 ? thinking of buying Ford oil from local dealer, but have seen there's what they call 'Ford Formula E' anything special about this oil that anyone knows of or is this only what Ford dealers sell anyway? Cheers Pete
  8. What's the scoop with tezza, does he sell at trade prices? cheers Pete
  9. Anyone know a good place and price to get the scuff plates from? Cheers Pete
  10. First off ; have you checked your tyre pressures? and if they're ok then may be worth getting under the car and checking for any play in steering gear i.e track rod ends etc, and also getting the tracking looked at.Cheers Pete
  11. Not good mate, up with the volume on the radio then!!
  12. I take it that's what you're running on at the moment? really bad are they? Cheers Pete
  13. Anyone running Michelin Primacy HP's on their car; finding I get quite a bit of road noise , not so bad on smooth roads (very far and few between in this country!!) but on the average road as said , quite noisy, not sure if it's also something to do with lack of soundproofing in these MkII's , but al lthe same seem to be a noisy tyre. Cheers Pete
  14. It seems model dependant as to whether the socket is fitted in the glove box or not, what model is yours
  15. Looks like you can, registered on their site and you can do a vehicle look up and get the details etc. and you can get access to technical stuff, but there's a subscription cost as I suspected!! Cheers Pete
  16. That's a bummer, so I take it, it's the info' that's on ETIS website with subscription payment? Cheers Pete
  17. Does anyone know if there is a Ford TIS cd manual available that covers the New shape Focus 2005 Onwards? Cheers Pete
  18. Can anyone with particularly an LX model let me know if you have scuff plates fitted (I understand these to be the protective plates that fit on the sill tops?); just got hold of an original 2005 brochure and states in there that these should be fitted as standard (black ones), but in my case they're not, so might have something to complain to ford about!! Cheers Pete
  19. Ok guys as has been said must be a MK2 trait then. Cheers Pete
  20. Notice that when engine is cold; going from 2nd to 3rd gear it feels very notchy almost as if it's going to crunch into gear (but doesn't) anyone else get this with theirs? I appreciate gearbox oil is thicker when cold and hope that's all it is that's causing it, all other gears don't feel too bad. It's a 1.6 Duratec if that helps. Cheers Pete
  21. Ok thanks guys think I'll forget that then! Cheers Pete
  22. Question still remains; how to enable bluetooth using radio menus, as said , as per audio manual I have to scroll thru' 2nd level menus to enable it, but doesn't appear to have this menu on mine, although the manual seems ro say it has!! Cheers Pete
  23. Cheers mate, understand what you're saying, but can't even find the menu that says enable / disable bluetooth, manual says it's on the 2nd level function, but doesn't appear to be there at all, last menu that comes up is CLIP then goes straight back to radio. Cheers Pete
  24. Got the 6000CD radio system (with centrally located on/off and volume control) in my LX and apparently when you go into 2nd level functions there should be bluetooth enable/disable according to the handbook; mine doesn't seem to have it or at least not that I can see, anyone else found this? is it an option not fitted to LX models I'm wondering? Cheers Pete
