  1. and now..... the 5 week update! Average Fuel economy is going up, 29.5 after about 400 miles, but keeps on going up. Engine seems to be loosening up a little too - had a chance to use 6th gear on a 40 mile motorway trip (longest trip to date), and it cruised well. Pity that the Sony player is so limited in features - its a bit "all fur coat, no knickers". Theres 4 seconds gap between tracks, it only scrolls the track info the once, the directory system works, but isnt particularly elegant. On the plus side, its belts out music with good bass and treble. Instruction manual turned up qui
  2. Oh, and other good things (after tonight), the cup holders are perfect size for Mcdonalds cups (much better at retaining than the MK1, where roundabouts were taken with extreme care), and the boot is enormous - I just keep putting stuff in and it keeps taking more. The electric handle latch on the tailgate is much better than the arrangement on the Mk1 - I wont worry about locking myself out now. One more gripe about the Sony radio - when you switch off the ignition, it always reverts to the start of the current track, which makes the combination of short trips to work and Pink Floyd a bad on
  3. Picked up my 2.0 TDCI Titanium Magnum grey estate on 25th June, and said goodbye to the trusty 1.8 Zetec Mk1! To date, no major probs - the only glitch is a very intermitant buzz coming from the front passenger door trim when playing bassy music / on rough road surface. Having said that, it's behaved itself after I gave the trim a good push! Need convincing that the £150 "unique sports suspension" option has actually been fitted, as I'm sure I could go round roundabouts a bit quicker in the Mk1 Zetec! Any suggestions on how I can find out whether it has been fitted? Sony CD player is o
  4. Has anyone noticed if AC makes a substantial difference with the 2.0 TDCI engine? It does make a difference in my Mk1 1.8 petrol, but wondered if the extra power and electro-hydraulic power steering in the diesel helped
  5. It worries me a little - I'm making a checklist for when I pick mine up (Magnum grey) so paint match will be high on the list!
