  1. A bit of feedback for anyone suffering the same annoying problem. Just been out a bought a sheet of black sticky back felt - the sort of thing you cut to shape and stick on the bottom of ornaments to prevent surface scratching. Anyway, took off the rear number plate, cleaned it all off nicely on the reverse and stuck a couple of small pads on so that it doesn't rattle/vibrate against th bodywork. Next, there are two hard plastic/rubber buffers inside the striker plate assembly on the sill. I cut to size two felt pads and stuck them on these. Next, I removed the four separate plastic tr
  2. Have been doing a bit of reading at this seems to be fairly common. Apparently the official Ford fix is to wrap insulating tape around the striker pin!! There are other suggestions on the net, including stuffing bits of sponge around the mechanism and making small adjustments to the position of the mechanism by loosening a couple of torx screws on the side. I've tried the insulating tape thing, which has quitened it a bit, but it still semms loose and rattles over bumps. Adjusting the mechanism is next!
  3. My '56' plate Titanium estate has a slightly annoying rubbery creak from the tailgate when going round corners/over bumpy surfaces. I've tugged at the tailgate handle and it appears there is a bit of movement when it is latched, causing the rubber weather seal to 'creak'. Can the closure of the tailgate be adjusted to 'tighten it up' thereby removing the movement causing the creak?
