  1. Just bookmarked your site. I work near Junc 4A M3. Expect to hear from me soon....
  2. Ford seats are fine. They just lack the "soft" style and comfort that is in the others. I guess you get what you pay for. More expensive leather, cut etc.
  3. Leather is good. The Germans seem to do the best leather seats. Audi/VW/Merc/BMW are all superb. Glad to see you stuck with the C-Max
  4. Thought the leather seats in the Ghia were very comfortable but looked a bit...spartan, no nice soft edges. What colour seats?
  5. ...oh and they use the same pseudo metallic trim thats in the Max...exactly the same trim material :!:
  6. Just for a laugh I popped into my local VW dealer and enquired about trading in my new C-Max 2.0TDCi Zetec "'cos it gives me severe backache" for a year old Passat estae. Sharp intake of breath from the sale manager (Tell me , what acting school do they all attend?) Anyway he values my Max, with 200 miles on the clock, at £10,300. Shows me the screen. Now I know they move either the car I am buying price down and/or fiddle the PX price up. But £10,300! I paid £12,400 for the Max last Thursday which is a damn good price so its the old swings and roundabouts. Buy it cheap , its PX value is g
  7. No idea why my post ref ICE appeared here  Cmaximus- was the software for the ECU? How have things improved?
  8. My new one had a rattle from the top of the dash. Turned out to be the storage cover on the top. Piece of draft excluder stopped that.
  9. They obviously don't have speed bumps in Estonia
  10. To have such an apparent wide diversity of mpg in the same model is just not right and allowing for different driving styles must hae a core reason. Mine is sitting at the 54-56 level for most of the time. 40mpg is absolutely terrible.
  11. Which is the one you touched up.........
  12. Wow! The Galaxy has the VW engine I think, but I could be wrong, same as my old Passat. Diff technology but always a reliable performer regarding power and MPG. I'm amazaed at how many TDCi owners are getting such low numbers. Has to be the software unless there are other engine component changes in the new ones. Good luck with the software request..
  13. Not strictly an ICE issue so posted here. I'm tempted to get an audio shop to fit my new Woodstock and combined DAB/Analogue aerial (expensive at £99 but neat-only one aerial) although I tend to do this stuff myself its a new car... Whats the technique for taking off the fascia - how hard? How difficult is the aerial to get at without ripping the roof lining. Looks like you can get at it through the interior light????? Feeding the various wires down to teh radio I can figure out...I hope. If not I'll pay an audio shop to do it depending on how much they charge...
  14. Peter I didn't mean to imply there wern't people with problems, and not all due to heavy right feet either. I nearly didn't buy my shiny new car because of the concerns but thought I would take the chance because, as you say, its 2005 brand new TDCi. Apologies if I gave any other impression. I would be severely peed off with those numbers. I drove a 1.6 LX on holiday and that drank petrol like nothing else. Don't know for sure but I would be surprised if I got 30 mpg with 4 people in it to be fair. Still loved the drive though. The guys with poor mpg diesels really have a case of course.
  15. So do I. Read my post "New car picked up and now in my possesion". driving pretty much to the speed limit of 70/50 depending on the road and a mixture of both and 30mphI get 54-56mpg. Its a new car so I was expecting less. Yes I know I am using a light right foot and concentrating on being in the right gear, the car is very different from my Passat so I need to do that anyway, but never the less its impressive and I'm loving the car already.
  16. Cheers Dennis. Check this for the stalk adaptor http://www.bluespot.co.uk/install/ford.asp
  17. Oddly its gone today. The old "whack with the palm of the hand" is the cure for 99% of all dashboard blues and I will keep that in mind. The wifes forehead is preety good for that too. I think the boiler suits are just some bizarre sexual preference to be honest. A bit like Postman Pat and his black and white cat. Very odd. Wonder if the, relative, weaker gearing in 1st and 2nd and then the ...whooooomf!...in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th could also be "rectified" by a software tweak without being a performance chip type upgrade? Thst not to be critical or detract from the overall drive of the car
  18. Cheers Dennis. I see what you mean about the blank. It looks well fitted. I definately won't be having the cradle fitted so nop problems there. The box is bluetooth as is the phone of course. When you say fit the mic in front of the dials where exactley do you mean
  19. That should have read "blank switch on the right" DOH!
  20. Having my bluetooth car kit refitted in my Ford next week. Didn't fancy the idea of a cradle so will ask the engineer not to fit it and I will just use the button and the bluetooth signal. Apparantely law dictates that they must fit the cradle from there perspective but a word with the eng should suffice to leave it off and sign that it was done. I was going to put my button on the blank switch cover on the left. Must admit your cradle looks OK but I won't bother
  21. Even brand new I noticed that 1st and 2nd lack bite but 3rd more, much more, makes up for that. I just love a wolf in sheeps clothing.... I still find it fascinating that software can tune up, or change engine performance in the way it does.
  22. Thats fine. Very good match...and pictures. very nice setup. I'm going for DAB, again, and www.bluespot.co.uk do the fascia, HU adaptor lead and stalk control adaptor leads AND do the Woodstock DAB 54 at a very good price. Its a Blaupunkt only dealer though. Thanks for the pics again
  23. It takes off like someone picking their soap off the floor in a prison shower. Sustains that acceleration as well. Of course new car and all I backed off and just wanted to disprove any notions of poor mpg if driven more on the careful side of things. Journey home tonight , all country A roads 55.3 mpg thats mainly sticking to the regulation 50 mph.
  24. The prices are on their web site...I haven't looked for that but I know they are there
  25. Moondust, go to Car Audio Direct they do all the relevent leads but I would be interested in the price from Ford as well. The sales guy I saw this morning looked suprised when I mention taking the Ford stereo out and putting a Blaupunkt Woodstock in its place...in a C-Max. Although he did say that there is a Ka conversion but they can come loose due to the weight of the HU put in....... I guess some sort of support fr the HU would be sensible in that case.
