Hi, What is the best way to clean the seats to my 1.8 zetec? It has grey cloth interior. I tried the suggestion from a previous topic of spraying with water to remove watermarks/ stains, but this has not helped. Are there any prouduts anyone can recommend. Thanks

Hi, My cmax seems to have poor fuel consumption, so I called 2 of my local dealers for advice on the ECU update. The first said that I could bring it in, then they will attach the car to a programme, which will determine if the car needs any updates, although if nothing shows then they will charge £90+vat. The other said to fill the tank up twice then record the mileage and then call back. Just wondering which one of these seems right and if i go with the 1st option, how do I know that the check has been done and they are not trying to pull a fast one by still charging. thanks

I am due to take my 1.8 zetec in for it's first service on Sat, they are also going to do the wiper reall then. They have said that the cost is going to be £175.00 and that incudes parts, labour and V.A.T, but it seems all they are going to do is replace the oil and filter and pollen filter!!! :shock: To me this sounds expensive, any other views?? :?

Does anybody know if the clutch is hydraulic or cable operated on the 1.8 zetec? If it is cable operated, do you know what the free-play should be?

I have just found the radio code and have entered it and also the vehicle I.D, but even though the display shows and you can tune in the radio, all you can hear is a very faint sound of music towards the drivers side when you turn the volume to maximum, and this is the same for the CD player. it is the 6000cd model. Also, when I set the clock, it seems to reset itself to another time shortly afterwards. Any Idea's ????

Well, the software was a lot cheaper than letting the dealer do it, but I didn't know about the set of keys. If anybody has a set they could lend me for a price, please let me know.... And if anybody is intersted in the software, also let me know :D

I have just brought a 04 C-max zetec, which has come with no manuals or radio code. I have now purchased a software kit to give me the code, but it is asking for the serial number. Does anybody know where I can find this?
