    Focus 1.6
  1. Hiya I know this isn't a focus, but there's some good knowledgeable people here. Girlfriend's fiesta needs a service and wondering how much I can do myself. Ford's quoted me £200 for a 60k miles service. Its a Fiesta Zetec 1.25 on an X plate. Can anyone tell me what this major service involves? Just what ford would normally do?
  2. Yea, I just don't think I can be doing with the damage. Shame really. I did read this forum before I bought one and kinda thought, well, its perfect for what I need, take a chance. I'm glad I lost very little money on the deal. I had to buy my Fiesta back at the dealer's forecourt price, which left me about a £800 out of pocket. I would complain, but who'd listen hahaha. Checked out a Picasso, good car. A bit rolley and noisy as hell. Also, thought the Octavia let in a good lot of road noise too, but drove quite nicely. I may be able to get my gear in the back of it, though not sure.
  3. It is a real shame! I mean, I just loved the way it drove and furthermore I could fit my gear without even folding a seat down, meaning I didn't have to rebuild the car every time I came back from a call out! Hmm... i dunno... I just love the way it drove and everything and I could park it easily, which is suprising since its a big car, but weirdly easy to park. MUCH easier than the new fiestas I thought (TERRIBLE cars, them). I would love to take the chance but I can't risk it. The octavia is nice, but its going to be another jobby of folding seats down and all the rest of it when I do a
  4. thank heavens for a 30-day return policy. I traded in my fiesta for a C-max ghia, black and all was well. I explained reliability was the main issue and the dealer said they would take it in for a day or 2 before delivery to check everything was top notch and do the upgrades to the ECU and stuff I asked for. They even offered to throw in a free service as it was due in 2000 miles. Day 3, I was going to an urgent call-out at 3:30am. I loaded my gear, got in and started up. The damn parking brake couldn't release. I turned off and started up again 3 times and the break wouldn't release. I ca
  5. Is the 1.6 deisel powerful enough? Bear in mind these cabs are heavy? Probably about a 100kg + when all loaded in... Jon
  6. Probably either CD Brammal in St Albans or in Welwyn. I live in St Albans and so like to know there's a proper ford dealer near by should I need it. I'm just worried as I've read a few posts about max's not starting. Due to my work, reliability is key key key! I'm an on-call IT engineer and therefore need to be reliable. I've yet to test drive a c/max, but it seems the most sensible car for me. I also play in bands on guitar, so I have to sometimes carry around big marshall speaker cabs and amp heads and such. The fester's done a stirling job to date in the past 5 years, but its time to u
  7. cOOOL - Slightly less worried... coupla questions though... What should I be checking for? Can I check if the firmware bits are updated properly? How about what trademark stuff the salesguy can do to sell me a duff one that I can spot? Also, I wanna trade in my present 2001X reg fiesta, 60k, FSH... tax and MOT due in january which is mainly why I wanna trade in... what should I expect? I'm expecting to go for about £12000 worth of CMax...
  8. OK so about 3 weeks ago I was set to go for a 1 year old C-Max Zetec 2.0 TDCi. With all the issues I've read about here, I'm sort of scared to go for one. Are C-Maxes really that shonky or is it just only a few models that are having problems?
