Not sure about a wiring change, but the Sony units do come with 8 speakers rather than the standard 4 when they are selected as a build option. They are a £200 and £400 option for the MP3 and 6 disc changer respectivly. I can only assume that if they were going to do the fitting of the speakers in the dealership it would cost extra and that might be why you have been quoted £600. Seems really high though! You could be right but even still £600 i think not. I have another question for you guys, Does anyone know where I can nopw get a aux input? I have heard that the wires are they waitting

I was quoted by ford that it would cost £600 for them to get one and fit it. As they said and lied that it would require a small amount of rewire on the car.

I got one this weekend off of ebay for £180 GREAT! eat that ford £600 I think not! It looks and sounds great! let me know if you want one and I can put you in contact with the chap I got mine off of. He has both the 6000 & the 6006 (thats what they are stated as in the audio hand book)

Get in. So they leave the aux cable in place? great, think I will do the same. That is as soon as I can get a new head unit that is. TomTom70 I stand corrected. :?

HI, Does anyone know where I can get a Sony 6006 or 6000 from to put in my new Focus? I have got the standard Focus unit at the moment, but I would really like to get hold of one so I don't have to change cd's around or start drilling holes in the car. I did buy one on ebay a while back, but it turned out to only fit the c-max due to its shape being more like this \___/ when it need to be |___|, so I sold it back on ebay. Any help please?
