Evertime my missus uses the spare key to open the car, when she opens the door she only has a few seconds to get the key into the ignition before the alarm goes off. There is a bleeping noise coming from the dash when the door is opened but as soon as she turns the key in the ignition this cancels out. Anybody have any ideas as to sorting this?

Had the car back at the dealers on Monday for 2 days, I was given a brand new 06 Focus Sport as a loan car and also to give me a chance to listen for the dreaded creak from another car. Beggar me the car was cursed, sounded worse than mine and it only had 800 miles on the clock, dealer was mortified when I notified him. Anyway my car seems to be sorted now, very quiet and a real pleasure to drive.

I've been told by the dealer that it is the Track Rod Ends. I now have to question whether the garage know what they are doing. The car is due to go back in on Monday fo further investigation, so I shall mention the Tie Rod Ends. Seems a shame that I have to diagnose the problem for them.

Had my 2005 Ghia estate in for new track rod ends on Monday after I noticed the dreaded creak. 2 week wait for parts. Collected car from dealer and all seemed well until I went over a speed bump and the noise came back exactly the same as before. Spoke to garage and they said that it may be caused by a dry joint in the steering rack. Anybody else had heard of this? :?
