I have a 2008 1.6TDCI I tried the aircon today and the air was not very cold, if i left it on for about 20 minutes it gets a little colder but definitely not properly cold. I figured it might need re-gassing so checked the level but it appears ok... I noticed there is no increase in engine revs when idle and the air con is switched on, so thought the system was properly knackered, but it does get a little cold, certainly more that "non air con" air... so i guess something is working... any thought on the reason for this? what about a split in a pipe? some air getting in but not all??
