It wasn't instant, about 2 or 3 journeys later it came on, I've thought about a dirty sensor, where would it be located, is it under the fuel tank itself?

Hi guys, I've a 2005 1.6 Zetec and have the engine management light on. When I connected a scanner to it the fault read P0444 which in the book is showing up as EVAP emmission control system purge valve C open. I reset the code as the car is running fine, not losing power or fuel but it has just come on again there definetely is a problem somewhere. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and if it can wait a fortnight since I don't get paid until then and also likely cost. The car runs fine, and I've checked around for any fuel leaks etc and can find none. Any help would be great
