  1. Thanks Jamz. If anyone can confirm the location on the 5 door that would be cool. I might have to get a custom fit then. Was thinking up by the rear seatbelt outlets, that would be ear height and there seems to me enough room.
  2. I see, thanks. Surely that isn't exactly optimal, considering the tweeter should be about ear height?
  3. Thanks for the response. Meaning that, in the rear, they are inside the door mounted beside the main speakers?
  4. Hi. Sorry for double posting (also in the ICE section). I'm fitting some after market speakers but I'd like to make them look as standard as possible. I currently have the standard 6 speaker setup for the MK2. Where are the sony rear tweeters (in the 8 speaker setup) located and if possible can someone put up some pics. Cheers, Pete.
  5. European Parts have just started selling these. VERY NICE! 8) www.european-parts.net/catalog/index.ph ... =58_65_104
  6. That bumper has been available almost since the focus mk2 came out (no idea why that wasn't the standard bumper) then it was adopted as the standard for the CC.
  7. Yes, whoever designed yours matched the standard side skirts pretty well. Personally I like matching grills... yes I'm very picky!
  8. Each to there own but for me that part is too OTT. Ford's part matches the body so you don't need to put any other bodykit on and it still looks good. Most other body kits require ALL the parts (i.e. side skirts, rear bumper, front bumper etc) to make the car look balanced. IMHO of course :)
  9. I've never been a fan of chrome. Stealthy is the way to go! The Thai license plate has that metal trim around it unfortunately. I'll hopefully be getting a black frame soon though. But it's all personal preference of course!
  10. I agree, Ford have the best front bumper for the Focus MK2
  11. Hi everyone. I just swapped my Focus MK2 2.0 auto for a Focus MK2 TDCi manual. However, the owners manual is in Thai, which unfortunately I can't read. Anyone know where I can download a copy in English? BTW, loving the TDCi torque!! :D Cheers, Pete.
  12. Well this is what I'll be trading for: Yes, it does have that stripe along the sides, not sure about it but it could come off if necessary. After adding my 18" rims and lowering it I'll see what it looks like. Pete.
  13. I had a knocking sound, came from kinda lower engine bay area but the sound really was hard to pinpoint. The interesting thing was that it happened more when accelerating hard and when I was turning right it was even worse! :?: Took it to an engineering friend of mine and the hunt began!!! Now I drive my car hard and fast and also have coilovers and so we checked all engine mounting points, suspension etc. Well it turned out to be one of the engine mounts. Looking into the engine bay it is on the left hand side, quite easy to get to. Ford have put in these weak * * * * hydraulic jobbies and I
  14. Hello again. Well I got to test drive the manual tdci, wow! The acceleration is very impressive compared to the auto petrol. Took a bit of getting used to after driving auto for 2 years. The top speed is a lot better than the auto petrol also. Now just gotta see what ford will give me for part-ex.
  15. One last question. Have any of you diesel guys who've owned the car for over a year found that the car engine has got noisier over time? A friend of mine was warning me that some diesels, after they are "warn in", become noticably noisier. Thanks again, Pete.
  16. Thanks for that. Do you find the shorter RPM limits annoying? The petrol 2l goes up to about 6,500 whereas the diesel seems to only go to 5,000. I have a ford rep coming over at the weekend with the tdci so I can test drive it while they look over mine to see what they'll give me to part-ex. I'm busy taking off all the mods before they get here! ;)
  17. Cheers, that's good to hear. Cost isn't such a problem. Fuel here is generally about a 3rd of the price compared to UK. For me it is more about performance. I came from an old (1994) BMW 325 manual. The damn 4 speed auto can really be a drag. Having the ECU tell you what gear it thinks you should be in, EVEN WHEN YOU SELECT SO CALLED MANUAL SEQUENTIAL SHIFT, is really annoying!
  18. Hi guys. The problem with living in Thailand is that Thais love automatic transmission to the point that ALL top spec cars are auto! :( Now Ford (bless them) have brought in a limited number of 6 speed manual transmission focus, but only as TDCIs. I've never driven a diesel and am a touch concerned with performance. But I'm sick of having 4 speed auto (meaning 3 usable gears!). Are my concerns unfounded and should I go ahead and move over to the manual? Any comments welcome. Cheers, Pete.
  19. Hi guys. Thanks again for the comments. craigc_zetec, yes, the panel. Haven't gone for an induction kit...yet. The exhaust is purely for performance, basically an exact replica of the original but wider diameter all the way through. Thais are great at doing this kind of thing. slacker900, we don't get the many options that you get in the UK, that's why we do our own. We get standard suspension (which is still great for average driving) so hence the KW coilovers :) As for the strut brace, yes, there is a standard one that runs along under the windscreen but it's rather flimsy. The way I drive I
  20. Yep, this one is additional and it really helps to counter some of the roll. Cos the car is front wheel drive, really helps to have both wheels firmly planted!
  21. I doubt it mate, he has enough customers here. He usually works on Mercs, BMWs, luxury cars. But there are so few Focus here he really wants to help me have a one of a kind. I'm the only one in Thailand with KW V2 coilovers on a Focus, they were imported by another friend who is the distributor here. ;)
