  1. What he said. For an extra £200 for the Zetec, you're getting a considerably higher spec over the LX (the sports suspension is the best of these extras, IMO), and the extra mileage is no big deal in car that's just a year old. I paid an extra 500 over an LX for my 1-year old Zetec Climate (purchased for 8799 with 15k on the clock) and think that the extra features were worth every penny.
  2. I haven't received the V5 from DVLA yet (the form was posted off by Reg Vardy on date of sale last Friday). It will be interesting to see who is the previous registered keeper when it arrives. I'll have a look at the bonnet lock to see if there's any evidence of replacement - I imagine that is one of the most commonly damaged parts of the car, so you might be on to something there. I need to get the audio system code from the dealer, so I'll mention the grille then. I must say, despite the lack of grille I was very impressed with the condition of the car when I picked it up - looked like
  3. KTF, you're clearly a font of Focus knowledge - the car is indeed an 'NG' plater (although it lacks the sticker). This means I'm driving an ex-Hertz Focus. You must be in the trade! Although I'm a little concerned that the car may have had frontal repairs, I can honestly see absolutely no evidence for this other than the lack of grille. All the other Zetec features are present in the car, including the dark front light housings, which look really smart next to the silver paintwork. I've come to the conclusion that the car's frontal appearance doesn't really suffer from the lack of the grille
  4. It's a UK-registered car, purchased from my local Reg Vardy dealership. I would like to think that RV would take the care to ensure that their incoming stock wasn't accident-damaged, but you never know. All seems pucker with the car though, which is a great drive, and I can see absolutely no imperfections in the bodywork or colour matching. I'll have a word with the bloke who sold me the car.
  5. Today I became the proud owner of 12-month old Focus Zetec Climate in machine silver. Everything seems fine and dandy with the car and it's a beaut to drive, but there's one minor thing that I noticed when I got back home - no chrome grille surround on the nose. Looking at the brochure confirmed that this should be on Zetec models, so I am puzzled as to why my focus is lacking this attractive little touch. Anyone else have this feature missing on their Zetec? Great forum by the way.
