  1. Fixed it at last :) A wire behind the engine was rubbing on the crank case and it had worn through to bare wire and was shorting every time the engine moved when pulling up at junctions etc. Thats all it was. Took 6 weeks to find. Amazing when you start talking money to Ford they can sort it out !!
  2. Its back in today and the dealers director has promised to get if fixed. Very intermittent now. When waiting at traffic lights etc it will just cut out or drop to 600rpm the pick back up again to 800rpm Its very strange indeed
  3. Its a relief its under warranty. They have spent £2k so far trying to fix it  We called the dealer as soon as it happened and they told us to keep an eye the temp when it happens again etc. So far today been behaving really well so fingers crossed... Nope spoke to soon - Its not behavin. I'm not playin anymore
  4. Ford have replaced the engine management unit and all is working perfect and I have got it back !!! :D :D :D :D Never run better !! 1st observations are : when I used to reverse up my drive which is on a slope you always had to keep the revs up and sometimes slip the clutch. Now it just goes straight back no problem smooth as silk. Makes me wonder that it has been going for some time now !!
  5. Probably just need to reset the computer software :)
  6. As a 2nd reply. They fixed the EPB by replacing the whole unit. But the car was still stalling. They went through the whole wiring loom, then changed the fuel pressure module and it was still happening. Ford told them to recheck the loom again. During this time they also checked all the modules, computers in fact so they say everything and more. The have the car running in the workshop and it just cuts out, on runs it does the same Then Ford finally after 28 days sent out an engineer. why they could not have done earlier we do not know :?:
  7. We have been very loyal to the same dealer. We phoned Ford CRC very hard to get an answer from them. In the end we had to go to the dealers regional director and he sorted us a Ford Focus Ghia hire car for our holidays and Ford have paid for it. After 1 month of having my car and dealer trying all they can to fix it (!) Ford have finally sent out a field engineer and guess what .... he can mend it !!!! He has decided to replace the engine management unit. So one is on order and should be fitted tomorrow.. Fingers crossed it will finally be solved :?
  8. Thanks for the welcome - we have been viewing for sometime and only recently signed up. Love the site it is very proffessional. Well done and keep up the good work
  9. Hi Guys - good C-Max board is now open to non-members. Our 54 plate C-Max 1.8 Ghia has been having problems for the last 2 weeks wonder if anyone has the same problems. This might be a long post ! We came to a normal halt and the engine stalled a message on the screen dislay said the EPB was having problems. Every time we tried to re-start it just cut out everytime. Called the RAC / Ford warranty number who sent a guy out within 30 mins. He connected his lap top and said the EPB was trying to turn it self on and in doing so was overloading the engine because of a fault and for safety rea
  10. We have just signed up for this forum and are very pleased to see that this board has been opened to non-members again :) Well done guys for having the initiative. I run britishminiclub.co.uk and I know how difficult it can be to decide to open up the forum to everyone. We do and it can cause problems at times
