Apparently it's a known fault with the C-max. The fix is to change the bushes on the top of the front suspension. Hopefully will get the fix next week.

I've noticed that my steering column has become creaky. More noticeable at low speeds. Any one else had this problem? I've checked my power steering fluid and that's fine. A bit stumped, think i'll book it in to be looked at.

Yeah my air con went in June. Irt was a broken hose. I have a gfeeling it's on the way out again know as it's begining to make some funny noises again. Ford is the only car I've had were the aircon is noticably on or off by noise. Every other car I've had you couldn't tell.

Doesn't the new focus have clear side repeaters the same as the Max? I would of thought that would be the easiest option probably not the cheapest though!

I too have the 1.8 petrol but haven't had the probem you are talking about. Only engine problem I have is hill starts - being in first gear accelarator to teh floor and the car hardly moving. Put the hand brake on, put it back into first and away I go. Dosen't happen all the time, only when it's really hot

It turned out that the window motor was on its way out. Fixed under warranty and working fine now.

As I drove home, i tried the switch for 5 mins. - no luck. Parked the car up and thought give it one last go, you never know and the window closed, very slowly. At least I'm safe over the weekend. It's booked in on Monday to be looked at so I'll hopefully know wht it is was then. I'm guessing it's either a dodgy connection or a failing motor.

The electric front window, drivers side, has just packed in. Problem is the window is half open/closed - depends how you look at it! Passengers side still works so isn't the fuse. Ford can't do anything until Monday. I don't fancy leaving my car out on the street with it's window open over the weekend. Any ideas on how to close the window??

I have changed my head unit to a single cd sony head unit with a MD changer in the glove box. Speakers sound fine. Only problem is that nobody has come up with a connector for the steering stalk controls yet. I keep getting told it won't be long 'cos it's the same connections as the new focus.

I've been waiting for the Sony connector to become available for about 8 months now. :roll: I think they will get a move on now that the new focus is out and about.

I had a knocking/rolling noise in drivers and rear drivers side door. Apparently some of the plastic mouldings that hold the door trim to teh door had snapped off and were rolling around. This has been fixed under warranty, no more rattles. Just need to sort out the squeaking brakes!

Any luck with getting the squeal sorted out??

I'll be down the dealers this weekend then. I thought I could live with it but it's getting right on my nerves. Is it s saftey issue then??

Honda Civic, Mazda 3 series, Ford Focus, Ford Focus C-max, Renault Megane & Seat Leon. All had something nice but generaly too small. Almost signed on the dottedline for a Mazda until we got cheeky and haggled with Ford over the C-Max price. Got a great deal for a great car. End of story.

I suffer the same problems (The clutch not the ale :oops: ) Usally reversing up a hill into teh garage. Stinks like cabbage?!? Not nice. never had this in any other car
