  1. Try this link http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=141513
  2. Finally done it. Unfortunately the 6000CD will sing no more as I had to remove the front panel to release the remains of the latches. Here is the finished job. Steering wheel controls work as per the Ford radio, only the dimmer does not funtion when the lights are turned on. Left playing with that for another day as I am just relieved to finally get this done. Thanks for all your help and advice.
  3. Needless to say the Ford dealer got me a Mk1 fascia. Have now finally got a Mk2 Silver surround thanks to the part numbers from Tezza. Princely sum of £23 including VAT from Fords. Will attack it again tomorrow and I will post a pic when its finally completed. For info, Alpine unit is a CDE-9850RI which has the direct iPod connection. Cable is already installed in the glovebox so only the head unit to go. I have Autoleads PC99-X50 harness and PC99-ALP adaptor for the steering remote and will let you know if it 'does what it says on the tin'. Anyone happen to know if the Ford dimmer works
  4. Thanks for the pictures guys gives me some idea as to how the catches work. Just spent another hour fighting it to no avail. Have ordered a siver surround from the dealer today so will collect tomorrow. Once I have it things may get serious...........
  5. Thanks for the replies, I do have 4 keys and can only get 1 of them to work. I have tried for approx 4 hours and have even resorted to trying Autoleads Euro keys as per another thread but can find nothing in the slots to activate the latches. From pictures I assume that there are 4 sprung pins holding the stereo in and am resigned to having to drill the fascia in front of the pins to release the unit. If I have a new fascia then at least I will know exactly where they are. p.s. I have a nice shiny new Alpine head unit and all the cabling etc and the car has a 6000CD with one key firmly fixed
  6. I bought a set of Autoleads removal tools,PC5-132, to remove the styereo but they dont lock into anything. Anyone know how to remove the CD unit if the latches are jammed, damaged? I presume its going to wreck the centre console so can anyine supply part numbers for replacemet? I have an 05 Ghia with the naff wood effect and if replacing would go for something different.
