the valve is right at the bottom i used the pipe on the nozzle to get right in there, if not you will have to remove the body 4 screws, mines under warranty i have not been that brave yet . im just not impressed with local ford dealer comes back the same every time, when i spray body seems to rectify it for a while. i did run injector cleaner in the fuel tank as well might be worth a shot when you are going to go on a long run ! :?

if its ti-vct ,its in the throttle body follow the pipe from air box to engine, when i pulled off the air filter pipe the throttle body was full of black gunge this is obviously gumming up the iac as well, spraying it with carb cleaner will help, if it rectifiys it short term thats probabley what it is, i pulled back the flap and got the pipe well in to the ousing and sprayed a load in there! do not operate the engine with pipe off or move flap manually as car goes in to limp mode or registers a fault , can be sorted by disconnecting battery but you need to leave for 30mins to clear faults. th

i have sorted it, the idle valve is in the throttle body i held the flap open and looked in with a torch there is a hole which i just aimed the tube in to the hole and sent a ton of carb cleaner at, (as im off to france sunday thought better of taking apart!) started it up it spluttered and coughed and then it evened out, stuck in a load of traffic 2day and was like when i first had it! bloody garage did not believe me they obviously like easy jobs like fitting brake pads etc & cant be arsed if its not shown a fault a happy rog :lol:

hi yoan its a mk2 1.6 tivct know one seems to know where its located on this engine, must admit i have had a good look for it, can see breather pipe going from engine and ends in air box, found emulsified oil in there also cleaned throttle body which was black and gummed, ect but nowt that looks like a icv. unless its combined in part of the throttle housing. no manual available for this one yet makes it a a pain to sort at the mo any help greatly recieved cheers rog

i have had a on going problem which the local ford garage seem unable to sort but found that with aircon on its fine any ideas please cheers rog

sorry ! 2007 1600 ti-vct tickover was silky smooth when purchased, throttle body was gunged up badly for 24k thats been cleaned improved slightly but still not right! rog

as in the description, economy is fine did a 100 miles 2day and got 47 mpg so cant complain here ,but its not running correctly at this rpm dealer can not sort anyone here had this problem is there any ford techs on here who might have experience of this. cheers rog

just had my car serviced, (25k) on the sheet was marked amber, gearbox gasket weeping! :shock: 1 year old surely they should have told me rather than me spot this i pressume this is a warranty job as on 16 months old! this is the same garage that still can not sort my idle problem as it came back again 4 a 3rd time the same. is there any decent ford garages in the north bristol area someone can recommend, this could be the shortest time i have ever owned a motor if this dont get sorted soon :? rog
