  1. Went to my fav ford dealer today to have a few things and ended up buying a Sony MP3 out of an Ultima £150 cash! Turns out the salesman told the fella it had 6 CD changer and the fella didn't want MP3. So he made the dealer take it out and put a 6 CD stacker in instead. Yours truly came along and took it off their hands. Question is, considering the Sony is normally connected to eight speakers and not six, will it fit the connectors for my stock 6000 head unit?
  2. That looks the business, absolutely perfect. DO NOT ADD ANY OTHER BITS TO IT!!!! That's how cars should be, nice and clean. The wheel would look brill on my magnum maxie.
  3. The Ultima is probably the exception to the C-MAx rule. Although I bet you the demand for s sporty diesel sallon is still far stronger than the Ultima. Just been to look at an Ultima this morning and can still get a Ultima TDCi with 18" wheels and bodykit in a week. Couldn't get an STTDCi for 10 weeks.
  4. Nice try Martin, I'd be surpised. Have you ever tried to get them to change a clutch under warranty???????? They'll not investigate it until yo uagree to foot the cost of the labour if it emerges that the clutch has failed due to wear and tear. Very much doubt they'll even sniff t wipers under warranty!
  5. I agree, to a point. It depends on how long you intend keeping the vehicle. Yes the Mondy is due for renewal in about two years time, but by then the C-Max will be a bit long in the tooth by then. Resale values are important. In Dec 03 I bought a Zetec S TDCi Mondeo Estate for £13,900 on an 02 plate with 18K on clock. I sold it in July this year with FSh and 52K for ££12,275. I put 34K on it and only lost £1600 ish in that period. My current C-max was bought in july 04 and within three months i tried selling it for £11k with 18k on the clock and no-one was interested - because it's
  6. The galaxy should do if its a 115bhp cos it's a VW PD unit and is geared for economy, whereas the C-MAx has traditional performance gearing with a sixth gear 'tagged' on the end to keep the rev's down at speed.
  7. The LED light is mounted onto a standard buld fitment and works immediately. The C-MAx light cluster comes out easily enough but as LED draw a lot less current, the indicators blink quicker because they think a bulb has blown. Similarly the brake lamps cause the message centre to warn you of brake light failure. To get round that you have to fit a resistor between the ground and the relative power supply to the bulb. The problem is where to site the resistor becasue it runs hot, So can't put it on anything plastic cos it will melt. Otherwise they look brill. The tail lamp can't be done
  8. Put it towards my next set of wipers
  9.        Tell them Mr Reay sent you. They'll know who I am. Was in there today and JD was dealing with a customer and jokingly shouted to the fella 'make sure he gives you mats, a tank of fuel and about 3 grand off, cos i get it!' Needless to say JD sank in his seat and the customer responded very positively :D
  10. Has anyone done the LED rear light thing???? Love the way they are ON?OFF instantly and the crisp blink of the indicator. Have been to Leicester today and bought LED's for the back (Except tail lamp) and before I massacre my lighting loom I was wondering if anyone had any tips? Have got the bulbs and resisitors to stop the indicators flashing quick and to stop the bulb failure warning light coming on. Would be people be interested in me taking pics and doing a 'haynes' type of write up?
  11. 01772 204000. I have dealt with Dave Dewhirst and J.D. Can't fault them at all. Back there tommorow to see if they are gonna do me a deal on either a kitted up ultima or Mondy ST TDCi. Getting bored with the zetec TDCi.
  12. Just read the handbook and there's no mention of refill's for the wipers. I knew refills were available cos the missus dad has a car accesory shop, but they're *****. The end up splitting and then you scratch the glass when the hard stuff hits the glass when the rubber refill gives up. Tyres, brakes, wipers, screenwash are essential and false economy using crappy parts, but still don't want to be had for £60 wipers though.
  13. They are so much in the dark ages it begers belief. 3 times I have gone to them and told them what I want and they knock about £500 off. Told them everytime I'm buying cash, if they do the right deal i'll buy there and then and they just don't listen. They missed out on a ST220 estate, Zetec S estate, C-MAx and finally a Fiesta ST150. Bought all of them for Evans Hallshaw in last year and cannot knock them at all.
  14. Aren't they, but If I could drive everywhere at driving instructor speeds, id be a...............driving instructor. I have had a 1.9TDi Audi A4 which was better on fuel at motorway speeds. At 70mph it used to give about 50ish easy. The wifes E270CDi still manages 42mpg at 70mph. The TDCi's are great but not as economical as others
  15. Gain try Evans Hallshaw in Preston. I have bought three Fords from them in 5 months. They will do a better deal thany anyone. I went to four ford dealers and they always come out top. Their service is A1 and I now go straight there. I live i Wigan and it's a hike but it's worth it.
  16. Honestly, on the M6 whilst on the phone (have to drop down to 60mph when on handsfree cos the windnoise in unbearable), cruised for about an hour and the mpg went up to 58.1 I've never had better than 50mpg in the past. Still hven't got time to drive that slow, so soon as call was finnished was back up to the ton and 38mpg
  17. I've got mine mounted on the vent to the right of the steering wheel with the cabling going into the dash between steering wheel and dash. It's bit more discreet that being mounted in the 'eyeline'.
  18. Thats it. I'm really fecked off now, going back to the dealers to complain. Why wasn't I offered this? This has prompted me to credit check Gordons of Wigan and a stinging letter is going off to the MD's home address. I'll politely and positively tell him that I have had enough of the ***** that his company call service. FIVE FECKIN YEARS I've put up with these muppetts and it stops NOW!!!!!!!!               Never mind the battle for Fallujah!! I'm sending in the artillery!!!!!!
  19. sTILL CAN'T BE AS BAD AS THE C-MAX. THE TITANIUM AND ST TDCI WILL HAVE FAR MORE SALEABILITY THAN ANY C-MAX, SEEING AS THERE IS A WAITING LIST FOR BOTH MONDY MODELS AND YOU CAN GET ABOUT ANY C-MAX IN ABOUT.........................A DAY.
  20. Thats disgraceful, why does some dealers charge more than others? Thought they had to use Ford RRP'S?
  21. Get the ST, it'll hold it's value better, based on the ST220 holding better value than the Ghia X. I just got rid of ST220 and i'd loved it more if it had a decent diesel engine. It should have the 2.7TDCi engine.
  22. You may be right, I think the C-Max is a confused car, it doesn't know what it wants to be?
  23. Looks like it Gavin, but yo know like everything elso on the maxie, it will probably have a special fitment exclusive to the C-Max. The wipers were £24.34 for the drivers side, £20.68 for the passenger side and 6.97 for rear, +VAt (9.09) = £61.08 Wouldn't mind if the things work, but when i'm cruising on the autobahn  at 90 -100 the wiper lift is unreal. At 50mph plus, when you put the wipers on full speed they flex so much as they wipe the window they flex and hit the A pillar!! So you can't go over 70 cos the wipers lift and you can't put them on full speed cos they strile th
