  1. The AUX works with Sony units from what I remember. It looks like your car may have been factory fitted with a SONY and it replaced at some point. Mine was the other way around, so I had to make myself and AUX socket!
  2. Yeah, I ordered them off ebay from a chappy in Germany. You just slide out the old rubber wiper and cut the new ones and slide them in. Do a search - I know it was me, but can't remember all the details. My replacement wipers are still doing a sterling job for what it's worth.
  3. 1.8 petrol (53) 29MPG for everything... On a long run I get around 33 and on town trips less than 29 ~ 26.
  4. If the forum has moved - then why I am here? I can still see everything here... and the good work these forums have done in the past deserve a little loyalty me thinks.. Anyhow - There are many solutions to the minor creaks and noises from the C-MAX. All cars suffer from expansion/contraction and general settling in noises, but the CMAX appears to need a little TLC... do a search for "noise".
  5. Thanks for that info Mastertech - If only my dealer would have told me about the clip being missing instead of just telling me that there was a fracture in my AC system. I did originally think my AC was goosed! BTW - The AC whirring sound is very audiable when it is switched on and the engine is revving... I'm sure this is normal, but the noise although not too loud makes me switch the AC off - I guess it's a good thing! :) I'll post the results of the garages work when they call me... I know they have ordered some parts so far. Gav
  6. Thanks for the feedback. What bothers me is that the RAC monkey that came out to help me at the roadside couldn't fix it. If it was just a hose, then I assume they are trained to a reasonable level and should have been able to fix this. It kind of bothers me alot that I had to pay £300 because I didn't have the right cover - and this may have been avoided if the RAC man could have fixed it at the road side. There is 1 item I have not mentioned. About 6 months ago i took my car back to the dealer because the A/C was VERY noisey - and they fixed it telling me there was a hairline crack in
  7. Howdy. Just a quick post to ask for any help you can give with my C-Max. On a journey from Blackburn to London yesterday all was fine and dandy for around 200 miles until I got to birmingham and the TEMP went up to MAX within seconds and I got the temp warning light. I pulled over called the RAC. He came, he saw, he scratched his head, he filled up the empty 'pink' coolant tank with water and followed me a mile or two at low speed to the services (M6 Toll). When we got to the services, the coolant had disappeared completely again! Where had it gone... no idea... it was raining very h
  8. I feel good about the colour of my C-Max now. I think that Honour green is the next best colour to Black and that nice deep red one I see every now and then... Green is mean. Oh yeah, I have 2... the C-Max (53) and the Focus (52)..
  9. I have a costco card but didn't realise that the mich were cheaper. I will have a look next time I am at the local costco, so thanks for the tip. On a costco related matter - I normally go to costco to get the beers and pop in on a regular basis, but am finding that the supermarkets are beating Costco on nearly all the products they sell. What do you find Costco useful for blueboy? Gav
  10. UPDATE and DECISION. After considering all the suggestions given by the kind people here I decided to wait.... UNTIL TODAY. I saw that Kwik Fit has a 17.5% saving on all premium tyres and as my C-MAX came fitted with: Pilot PRIMACY 205/55 R16 91V Rim-protectionleiste, G1, RRBL I decided to have the fronts replaced with the same ones as I have had 25,000 miles from them and they were still good for another 2,000. £99.00 x 2 (MI205/55v16SPRI) £5.25 x 2 (Wheel balancing) £3.25 x 2 (valve) £1.00 x 2 (Disposal) Less Discount £34.66 TOTAL £182.34 So, they feel great - just like the car
  11. Not too long ago I experienced a smell that I thought was related to the A/C or odour filter. After reading this thread, I rekon it was down to me riding the clutch like a bucking bronco. I was coming out of OAFC's car park after a game and due to the nature of every man woman and child trying to dive infront of my car, I had to keep close to the vehicle in front. I had my heating on FULL (AC may have been on - I cant remember) and the speed on FULL... I was edging forward for around 10 minutes and then I could really smell the stink. At the time it made sense for me to think that it was
  12. Hmmm Darwen Tyres eh? Thats just down the road from me. I'll check them out.
  13. It was one of the smaller blocks that was not secured properly - But I check them all just to be sure... Y'see the head unit can obviously only 'see' two of the four speakers and therefore you cannot fade.
  14. Thats just what I was thinking. Ozzy is around 10 mins drive from me - I think, so I will probably give them a call and find out what tyres they have at a good olde price! Thanks everyone... Looks like I can afford and extra XBOX 360 game this weekend!!! YAY...It's gonna rock- I even booked Friday off work so that I could pick it up at midnight on thursday. Gav
  15. Thanks Charlie... I'll have a look in the Yellow Pages ... but how will I know that he's the one I am looking for? Did you get fitting included? Gav
