I had the same problem 12 months ago and took the car in under warranty.The problem turned out to be a broken wire somewhere, but a section of loom had to be replaced.

How do I tell if my car is fitted with rain sensing wipers, without stating the obvious. the manual says they are if so they don't work. It's a mk2 1.6 tdci zetec climate.
