  1. Moondust, is your maxie petrol or derv? It may different on the petrol variant, if it's not broke don't try and fix it! :)
  2. How did they work that one out, if a kid has travel sickness, he or she will have it regardless of darkened glass. Ford dealers wanting to be doctors now, sheeesh :x
  3. It is well worth the extra cash, you will never want halogen headlamps again. Plus I saw a post on the forum mentioning that the standard headlights are not the best. This is my 3rd vehicle with xenons, can't go back to halogen now!!
  4. It is very easy to change the xenon lights to continental, done it twice. Take out the headlamp assembly, remove the cover, there is a small metal lever that goes up and down to mask the beam, you just move the lever down until it clicks into a small groove. It just flattens the beam off to horizontal to avoid dazzle. :D To put them back to normal just reverse the process. It is easier than changing a bulb.
  5. yes it says the same on mine, NVM is still 422, I'm happy though as the car seems to have more power since the update, I booted it earlier and had the ESP light come on in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. It feels like a different car :D :D :D
  6. Yep they will be fine, I only saw these after i ordered my current set.
  7. Well there are still a couple of problems still to be sorted, it needs the uprated earth for the offside headlamp and you may remember a post about my nearside full beam fuse blowing, well it needs a new headlamp. So after next Wednesday all will be fixed, just waiting for parts. :P :P
  8. Mmm, nice bit of kit that, thats the other one I was looking at, wasn't very clear in the accessories booklet.
  9. Yes no prob Ron, link is below. As for changing them you need to remove the headlamp assembly, really easy to do,undo 1 torx screw on the top then you need to push down the plastic retaining clips at the bottom of the headlamp housing but don't push down too far or they snap as i found out, ease the headlamp forward and lift it out. http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info ... f6d895ab03 they do look nice :D
  10. A fine sanding with some wet/dry sandpaper will cure very small nicks in the blade.
  11. Before all the threads disappeared there was a post about the ECU upgrade to stop the fuel light coming on, hesitation in 1st and EPB problems. My maxie has just been in today to have this done and it has worked, the display now shows 424 rom level on the test function. If you have the 2.0 TDCi and the display shows 422 on the rom level you will need the update.
  12. Yep I have xenons as well and have done this and it looks excellent, if you aint got xenon you may as well drive with sidelights on. :P :P :P
  13. My 2.0 zetec is pretty quiet, much more than my galaxy 130 tdi which was a noisy van and it had loads of wind noise too.
  14. Mine is a perfect fit and i have never had to tie anything down in the car ever. I think there are different ones though, I had a choice of two when I bought it.
  15. Are the seats in the U sports type seats or just normal?
  16. Yep but I can't see ford putting in an entirely different remote system in the Ghia to the Zetec. It has to work, just a Ghia luxury, electronics are the same.
  17. Yep the key is flat with the etched line, wouldn't mind getting hold of the flip type so i will be looking into it.
  18. I'll bet, you will have to post your top speed, I've had 130 out of it but the engine is nowhere near loose yet, it will get faster.
  19. Oh nice one, all you need to do when it gets dirty is give it a wipe...easy! :D
  20. I'm currently over in Germany and thought I'd do a little test. I filled up with diesel, reset all the counters, mpg ect and have driven 125 miles today through towns with lots of traffic lights, on the autobahn doing at least 120 or more when possible, hilly forest areas and normal A roads and have returned a MPG average for the entire journey of 38.6 mpg. I must say that the Max 2.0 TDCi is excellent at 120 mph and it easily hits 130, 3200 rpm at 120 is a long way from the redline. It's very solid at 120, well impressed. :P
  21. Is it possible to use the flip type remote key on the zetec, or is it just for ghia models only?
  22. I'll just treat that with the contempt it deserves! :|
  23. Me as well in my old mondeo, all they did was mess up the beam pattern and dazzle the other drivers. I did find the bulbs that halfords do, much better quality. Personal preference really.
  24. You can buy the xenon look type bulbs that will give you a bluish white light, approx £15 a pair or go the whole hog and get an aftermarket HID fitment which will cost about £500 or more. If you do fit HID Xenon lights, by law you need to have fitted, a headlamp washer system and automatic headlamp levelling which means sensors on the axles ect, very costly. But on the other hand xenon lights are superb and I would not have a car without them again. Driving a car with halogen headlights for me now is like driving with sidelights on.
  25. Yep after some thinking, I thought about the light shield. I changed the fuse tuesday and used the full beam with no trouble, I have used it tonight a few times, then on my way home it blew again. I will put another 10A in tomorrow then see how long it lasts, a trip to the dealer will happen if it fails again.
