  1. I think mine is around 3000 rpm. I've got the ti-vct, not sure if this makes a difference or not.
  2. The car idles fine, about 800rpm, no juddering at all. I guess it's just a much more refined engine that my old car, I went from a M reg renault 19 to a mk2 focus, that's quite a big change!
  3. Yeah, I don't think I explained it very well. Say I'm driving into a village with a 30mph speed limit from a road with a 60 speed limit. I don't want to use my brakes so I let off the throttle to slow down, changing down where I need to. My observation is that the car doesn't lose speed nearly as much as the cars around me (as well as my old car), and I always have to brake as they seem to slow down a lot more quickly than me. I can't really explain it any more than that, maybe it's what a more modern engine is like. Just wondered if anyone else found this happening?
  4. In my focus (1.6 ti-vct) it feels like theres hardly any engine braking going on at all when I let off the throttle. Sometimes it feels like I'm going to roll into the back of the car in fromt of me! My older cars never did this. Is this normal?
  5. So one of the axles had tyres with different speed ratings? So they were right in getting you to change them, but Jamz is right, only the tyres on the same axle have to have the same speed rating. :D
  6. Yeah I thought that might be the case, guess I better start saving! Shame there aren't too many 3 doors on the market (2.0), my current car's a 3 door and think it stands out a bit from the 5 door that everyone else seems to have!
  7. Hi, I've got a 2005 1.6 (115) zetec, which I've had for nearly a couple of years now. Wicked car to drive, but not got quite enough grunt for my liking. So basically, I was wondering if it was worth modifying (changing filter, cat back, remap etc) or just going for a new car, say a 2.0l focus? Cheers.
