  1. Not sure about the fascia, but I do know the ford stereo is a right pain to get out. You'll need to get 4 keys to do it, and preferably somebody to help you as well. I've taken 2 out in my time and the keys have always left my fingers red raw.

  3. It only works on certain trim levels afaik, which is rubbish. I've got a zetec and it didn't work. Sad times.
  4. Sounds easier to me if you just buy a titanium
  5. I remember there were problems with this on the fiesta, they'd come unstuck and just snapped off. Not sure what you can do, I suppose trying to stick it back on wouldn't hurt.
  6. There was a mk2.1 a pre-facelift facelift. It got a slightly different radio, more of the trim levels are colour coded, things like that. Edit: It wasn't officially called the mk2.1, that's just what I call it.
  7. Well I tested it on the way home and it does flash up. mind you I had to get to 7000rpm before it did! Ps for all you law abiding types this was in 2nd gear in a 60 zone, was around 55mph.
  8. I've definitely had it working on my car (2.0 petrol zetec). Will check on the way home (B roads ftw)
  9. I'm guessing you mean this bit? It's either 12,500 miles or 1 year from the date of the LAST service. Nothing to do with when the car was registered. Edited as it was a bit shouty. Slow drivers make me angry first thing
  10. I really think that the 1.6 petrol (both versions) is too underpowered for a car the size of the mk 2/2.5 focus. Nowhere near enough torque.
  11. Jamz if that works you are a star. If not, ummm a white dwarf?
  12. I know om my mk2 it is only one touch down, not up. Dunno if this has been changed for the mk2.5 but I suspect not.
  13. Cheers, I was hoping that was the case. It will be it's 3rd service.
  14. Basically my car needs a service next month as it will have done 12,500 miles since the last service. The thing is I don't know whether it will need just a normal service or a major one. It's an 07 plate 2.0 petrol and the next service is due at 26,000 miles (bought it as a low miler), but I can't remember whether the 3rd service is a normal or major one? Cheers!
  15. As far as I know only the really early mk2's have the low level sensor. My 54 plate zetec had it but my 07 plate zetec doesn't. Tis a tad annoying.
  16. Yeah they do a 1.8 diesel but it's the same engine as that in the mk1, whereas the 1.6 is a newer engine. the 1.8 has a higher insurance group with only a little performance edge over the 1.6. Economy is worse too.
  17. Diesel will be best as long as you can give it a good blast occasionally to clear out the DPF (if you buy one that has a DPF fitted). 1.6 because of your age etc. Sounds like your driving style will be suited more to a diesel. I've got the 2.0 petrol and it really doesn't start producing much power until you get above 3000 rpm.
  18. On the standard stereo? Don't think so, unless you can change the source levels. I've changed my stereo to a pioneer one and can do it on there. I can't remember being able to do it on the ford stereo (though I may be wrong). Radio signals are massively compressed, meaning that the difference between loud and quiet is a lot smaller. A good example is a tv ad which seems much louder than the program you're watching.
  19. I'd say that might have a small effect on performance! Are your washer jets leaking? I've heard of this causing the plugs to get water on them.
  20. Well if you're happy with it then that's good. Unfortunately my local garage is not so good. http://ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name=Foru ... c&t=223046 I mean ffs they couldn't even tell the difference between an alternator for a normal mondeo and a mondy st. I wouldn't want them to have to do anything important, like the brakes!
  21. Just don't take it to frauds and you'll be fine. All main dealers, no matter the make are the same. My workmate was telling me his gf took her astra to the whizzpopper dealer for a warranty issue. They did one of those check sheets and gave it the all clear, no advisories or the like. Then it had to go back in 2 weeks later for something else and apparently it needed new brakes all round! Mate took a look, nothing wrong with it at all. Plus after my boss' episode with the local ford (look in the hampshire section if you're interested) I certainly won't be going back to the stealers.
  22. I don't know why exactly, I just remember when my boss had his changed on his mondy st they had to do the starter motor as well. I think when the flywheel fails the debris can damaged the motor. Not 100% on this though. Edit: Just asked my boss and it's because when the flywheel goes the dust from it gets into the starter motor and gunks it up.
