  1. Just checking the car over today and noticed the amount of rust that's starting to build up on the edges of and other parts of the rear cross-member and also noticed it on the joints where the rear droplinks attach to which I presume is the rear stabiliser bar, when weather gets better I think it's time for some Waxoyl treatment!! Are you all finding the same in these areas? Cheers Pete
  2. ok cheers mate, so did come with the clips that you have to insert into metal holes in roof then.
  3. Going to purchase a sun glasses holder for the car; when you buy them do they come complete with roof clips and screws . Cheers Pete
  4. It'll be even worse in your case as you let the fuel run right down, therefore creating more pressure in the tank, at least that's what I've always experienced. Cheers Pete
  5. Have a ford focus 1.6 with only 3,000 miles on it but it has this occasional light Tap/knock sound when e.g changing from 1st to 2nd and at the point it takes up drive (when coming off the clutch not particularly fast ) more noticeable at lower speeds also sometimes happens from 2nd to 3rd and all other change ups are fine, is this fairly normal given it's a front wheel drive? Have been told by a Ford dealer that they all do this!! but has anyone else noticed this with theirs, just annoys the hell out of me!! :x P.S as bizarre as it sounds; it's a similar noise as if you flick your tongue
  6. Nice one mate, many thanks for that. Cheers Pete
  7. Was thinking about fitting a Sunglasses holder to my car, noticed it has got 2x plastic hole covers in the roof lining where I think it would go, if these are pulled out are the holders ready to screw straight in? Cheers Pete
  8. on the fabric mate, as said it looks like it must have weeped through from the other side
  9. Well, finally got round to getting wheel balancing done on all four corners and it was found that the two nearside wheels were spot on (after 2.5 years, although the car has only done just over 3,000 miles!) and the two offside ones were both out, which was strange compared to the other two, but what a difference, vibration gone now and car feels good at all speeds at the moment anyway!! Cheers Pete
  10. Any ideas of how to remove headliner glue, tried varoius cleaners but not much good; having said this it looks like glue that has seeped through from top of headliner and is mainly around where the roof grab rails are and a couple of other places , won't scrape off either as it's quite hard. cheers pete
  11. Yours sounds like clutch release bearing. Cheers Pete
  12. What's this sort of knocking sound when changing from 1st to second or 2nd to 3rd when coming up off the clutch (coming off the clutch slowly ,it's not so prominent), 3rd to 4th then to fifth not bad, it sounds like it's the clutch engaging, but not sure, wife's clio sometimes does the same thing. Cheers Pete
  13. Understand what you're saying guys, just never seen this on any other vehicles I've had. Cheers Pete
  14. have noticed a lot of condensation appears on the inside of the coolant tank (never really seems to disappear); if I tap the tank the tank you can see the water running down inside , so does appear to be water, anyone else get this with theirs, looks like tapioca when you open the bonnet and look at it!! Cheers Pete
  15. I wonder if it's something to do with the fact that there's no rubber seal as it were between bottom edge of rear screen and lid as I have noticed water collects in there when I wash the car , always have to blow it out when chamoising the car down. Cheers Pete
  16. Anyone found a cure for rain water dropping into boot area when tail gate is opened, looks like another crazy design flaw somewhere!! Cheers Pete
  17. Cheers mate, same year as mine is i.e 05 mkII, something I'll have to live with then I think, strangely enough, read somewhere that boxes on new ones have been re-vamped so they obviously realised there's some issues with the old boxes!! Cheers Pete
  18. I'll try that mate, how old was you're old focus? Cheers Pete
  19. Guys , how many of you sometimes struggle trying to select reverse gear? I'm sometimes sitting there for what seems ages trying to select it even after waiting the three seconds it states in the manual, embarrassing sometimes; this could turn into a reverse gear selection Poll  Cheers Pete
  20. Same as above unfortuneatly mate, but hope it's a good one for all that can make it. Cheers Pete
  21. as said mine feels heavier on motorways cheers Pete
  22. Does anyone know if my car has the variable steering assistance as I find the steering seems to get heavier when e.g at motorway speeds and a bit lighter when around town/parking. Just not sure being an LX model Cheers Pete
  23. Heard recently about wrong type of grease fitted in track rod ends/balljoints causing steering wobble of some sorts, anyone know what vehicles (month and year) were affected by this? Cheers Pete
