anyone with the 1.6 Ti-VCT duratec engine; how quiet is your engine, find that mine, although not particularly noisy, there is what I thought was tappet noise on tickover but the more I listen to it I think it could be fuel injectors ticking? also hear what sounds like slight fan belt (possibly) noise, a sort of dry rubbing sound, anyone else get these noises? Cheers Pete

CDR discs in CD6000 unit...............
oldcruiser replied to zetecste's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
You could also try the CD-R AUDIO discs instead of plain CD-R, these work in most if not all CD players. Cheers Pete -
Cheers guys, think I'll do the same not really worth risking any cleaners I don't think. Cheers Pete

Anyone found a good cleaning product for the crackle finish on the dashboard, just want to be careful I don't put any old stuff on it as it looks like it could mark or nick very easily (especially with the wife's finger nails!!). Cheers Pete
-
That's exactly the same as mine. Cheers Pete
-
Ah right see what you're saying , so if that's the case it must be that 116bhp = 115ps as mine is also clasified. Cheers Pete

here's a strange question; my car is registered (as on Log book)as 116 LX any ideas on what is meant by the 116? Cheers Pete
-
No one noticed this at all then! Cheers Pete
-
ok cheers mate Cheers Pete

That gives me a bit more confidence that mine'll work also, are your jets slightly recessed into the rubber as mine appear to be? Cheers Pete
-
Sorry guys another stupid question; can anyone confirm where the water / scuttle drain holes are, noticed water coming from just under front wheel arch (bumper end) area, just hope it's drainage. Cheers Pete

Anyone noticed that when shutting the rear doors they almost seem to bounce back at you slightly as if they haven't fully closed if you see what I mean, but they do appear to have closed ok as door panel to rear quarter are level, just seems a bit odd! Cheers Pete

Just an update guys, took car into dealer today and got the new revised washer jets fitted, along with rubber seal between bonnet and jet, looks like a decent seal where the jet itself seems to be slightly recessed into the seal to help stop movement I presume, all done under warranty, was expecting to go in guns blazing about all this but there was no quibble at all  so hopefully next down-pour or car wash = no leaks!! Cheers Pete

Sounds like air in the system, if this is happening when car is running? Cheers Pete
-
Ok nice one mate. cheers Pete

This clicking business is relays switching to put fan on when ignition is switched off, is this what you mean? Cheers Pete
-
Anyone noticed on their car; several clicking noises going on under the bonnet immediately after switching the ignition off, only lasts for a few seconds, sounds a bit like relays clicking, just intrigued to know what it might be. Cheers Pete

what's the two holes for in the cam cover mate, is it for an engine cover of sorts. Cheers Pete
-
Nice one , thanks guys one less problem to worry about! Cheers Pete
-
Is it normal to be able to open up the bonnet without actually unlocking the car and the alarm not to go off? Cheers Pete
-
Well, car goes in next Tuesday to local Ford Stealer!! as a potential warranty case , which I'm probably gonna have to fight as they're quibbling already as there's only one stamp in the book and should have two, which I understand, but the car's only done 2,500 miles in 2 & 1/2 years!! ( it's Faulty workmanship / design as far as I'm concerned) and even if they agree or I pay, there's a back-order on the new washer jets as they're in such high demand, so god know's how long 'til they get done; what I've done is to take washer jets out and put some wafer thin double sided tape between jet

Seems like you have a diesel mate , so will be different, if it has a large plastic cover on top of your engine (have seen this on some of the diesels), you will see evidence of water on that, after washing the car , if you have this problem. Cheers Pete
-
Just washed the car and would you believe it yes water leaked onto plug well , so in my case it would appear that the jets need a rubber seal around them to cure it, does anyone know if the dealers replace them do they then have a rubber seal fitted? Cheers Pete

Cheers Sai, interesting read mate Cheers Pete
