the other week i got a blank uncut ford flip key from ebay. (paid around £50 for it) took it down to my local ford garage today to get it cut and coded. unfortunately they didnt have the proper cutting machine there so i had to take it to a place in darwin to be cut for only £6. then went back to ford to sort out the coding and they are charging £94. was not expecting that much at all. i have read a few posts on here about the flip keys but i couldnt find anyone else that had paid so much for coding. and i am having to wait 2 weeks before they can do it. i was hoping to have it all sorted

i had been keeping my eye out for some on ebay cos car breakers sometimes sell them. but i had only been able to one, never a pair. that might be worth a try.

no, i didnt sand those off, if you look close you can still make them out but they dont look out of place. they give a nice effect and i figured the paint would stick better with those left on. :lol:

the first thing i did was to unclip them, take the inside and give them a good wash with warm soapy water then rub dry. next i sanded them down. i used 600 wet and dry paper (halfords) dont do crazy with it, i just used it to rough up the plastic to give the primer something to grip to. once i had done that i gave them a good few coats of grey plastic primer. (again halfords) i used the full can to cover both of the brows. i then left them to dry for 24 hours. after 24 hours i gave them a light sand, just to take off any rough bits of primer. careful not to rub through the primer! and i was re

hi, i have been thinking about changing the bulbs on my car. ( i have a 57 plate zetec climate) im considering getting the philips blue visions to get rid of the yellow effect i have now. just wondered if anyone has used these bulbs before and what were they like. are they worth it or a waste of money? cheers :D

it doesnt sound too hard but i dont want them to end up cracking or being a different shade of moondust silver. im keeping a lookout for some on ebay that are ready done like the ones on the ghia and titanium but so far i have only been able to find one, not a pair. :(

i had that problem on mine. im using the same lead that i had in the fiesta which worked perfectly. found that i can get it right by having it pulled out slightly of the aux port and also pull it out of your ipod slightly. if you play around with it you can get it right. :wink:

hi, changed my grille today for an ms design chrome one. got it from ebay, good price too as they are around £200 on the ms design site. was pretty nervous about fitting it cos i have read a few stories on here about people who have changed their grills and then the bonnet wont open. thankfully mine still works ok, double checked the locking mechanism and filled up my washer fluid before closing it though. :lol: looks much better i think.

cheers, im from nelson in lancashire. i got the handbrake cover from allen fords website. dont know what the part number was, but i did get a discount cos i am a ffoc member. so the total cost was only £28.80. like i said though, the origional was a real pain to get off. i had to hack it off with a stanley knife. next mod will be a ms design grill which is on its way to me now, have also ordered a set of new number plates from fancyplates.com. also thought of colour coding the upper part of the fog surround but im abit unsure about doing it myself. 8)
