  1. Thanks RTV, that's exactly the sort of info I am looking for. Do you know exactly what pipe was replaced? I want to print this out and take to my dealer when it goes back at the end of the month.
  2. Cheers fellas Bruce - my 'vibration' does not sound the same as yours, does not come from the rear of the vehicle. Addo - My 1.6TDCi does not have an engine cover.
  3. Ok - I have revision level 4224. is this correct?
  4. Hi Guys Could somebody tell me how to check the software revision level on my 1.6TDCi Ghia and asvise what it should be. Car is going back to the dealer to sort my vibration at 2400 revs issue and would like the software updated while it is there if possible. Hoping it might improve my low 40's mpg...
  5. Hi Andy thanks for the offer but can buy myself for £20 and dont look too difficult to fit. Only obstacle at the moment appears to be how to get the wires from the sensors into the boot as there does not appeat to be any easy access point. Any trade secrets you would be willing to reveal?
  6. My March 05 1.6 also does the same ... any one else have any info on this? My Feb 05 Car ALSO has this problem. Would love to know if there has been any solution found to this as my car is going back to the dealer at the end of this month for this problem...
  7. Thinking about buying some of these, a lot cheaper than the £300 than Ford would want to fit... Anybody else done this? Would reassure me if somebody else could advise if this was easy to do and the system is reliable...
  8. Would a simpler option be to simply remove the window winder? Sorry, cannot help with info on fitting rear electic windows...
  9. Hi guys Have had my car (1.6TDCi Ghia) for a couple of weeks now. It is a 2005 54 plate with 14K miles. One thing I have noticed is that there seems to be some resonance at about 2500 revs which can be heard in each gear. This is most noticeable in 5th where it makes the engine sound a bit boomy. You can drive through this and at 3000 revs all is quiet again. Anybody else have this? The car went back to the dealer last week and the tech guy took the car out for a drive with me. First of all he said it was tyre noise (?) and when I said the noise went away when I put the clutch down he s
  10. We have just traded in our 1.8 Zetec CMax for a 1.6tdci Ghia (110). At the same time we tested the 1.6tdci we also drove the 2.0tdci Zetec as the dealer had both for sale. Both cars on 54 plates. We chose the 1.6 as it felt quieter and smoother than the 2.0 and still gave good performance - better than the 1.8 petrol. Also - on the same test route the 1.6 gave over 40mpg indicated and the 2.0 only gave 32mpg indicated. We did find the 2.0 very quick though - just a bit raucious. The other deciding factor for us was the extra toys of the Ghia against the Zetec but I think even like for
  11. Thanks for that but have found out our new car is the 110 :) Not sure if the driving difference between the 90 and 110 is noticeable...
  12. Hi Guys, hope you can help with this... Can anybody conform that all 1.6TDCi Ghia Cmax's came with the 110ps engine? I am talking specifically about a Jan 2005 54 plate car... From what I can tell only the LX and Style had that 90ps engine... Have tried ringing Ford customer service and they dont know (!), they just gave me a premium rate number for their technical department... Would appreciate any help you can give...
  13. How do I check the software version and what should it be?
  14. Hi guys Have a 1.8 petrol Zetec, 53 plate. The 'problem' we are having is that the car seems to 'bog down' on pull away unless you really rev the nuts off it. This is most noticeable when trying to pull away quickly and so timing releasing the clutch and applying the gas. Very easy to almost stall it doing this unless you get the revs up first (above 2K) Pulling away slowly is less of a problem but it is noticeable how much the revs drop when the clutch reches the biting point. I notice it mostly when I get out of my car (Pug 306 Hdi) and drive the Cmax. I have seen the thread ab
  15. No, the car wasn't Ford Direct. I believe it is an ex-Hertz car. I have no idea what the dealer did to the B pillars, although what he said was that they were fixing a rattle as per one of their bullitins. I didn't notice a rattle before hand and it seems the same now so maybe it was preventative... Following our cars visit yesterday they have identified the fault with the seat - apparently the whole base can be moved by hand - and it is booked in again for rectification. Dont know whether it is a repair or seat replacement... I am surprised that there is no pre-delivery inspection on a us
  16. Right, we have had our 53 plate 2004 1.8 C-Max Zetec for about 5 weeks now, and it has been 5 weeks filled with niggles. First of all when we collected the car the stereo would not pick up any radio stations - turned out to be the aerial not plugged in. Also the armrest was stuck in the 'up' position - needed a new armrest which has since been fitted. The car has again been back to have the softaware updated so that we can change the clock. I dont actually think they did anything though because I found how to change it manually before it went in and the rom level still shows 40D... They di
  17. Basically when we were looking for a new car cruise control and climate were high on the desirable list. However when we saw the Cmax we were smitten, but could only really comfortably afford the car that we got which was a 1 year old Zetec. I have read the posts about fitting the cruise control and that may be something to consider for the future, however wanted to also find out about climate. Like dcrn above I also wondered if all the technical bits were already in place and it was a simple case of fitting the dash module.
  18. ...have climate control retro-fitted to a Cmax Zetec with manual aircon? If so does anybody have any idea on cost? TIA
  19. WE BOUGHT IT!!!!! Have to say that we have found the Ford dealers a pleasure to deal with thus far, unlike whizzpopper who were simply arrogant and Hyundai who were not interested (offered us £4K for our Picasso, huh...) Looking forward to getting the car now and hope we dont have any of the problems that have been highlighted on this forum.
  20. I'm driving another 1.8 Zetec tonight at another dealership. Same age and price. Interestingly both cars are in Vitro - is this considered a good colour? I know every man and his dog goes for silver but to me all the silver cars on the road are starting to look a bit bland - nice to have something a bit different wothout being to crass... I suppose it's down to personal choice and the wife loves Vitro, just wondering for future re-sale point of view. The dealer seems quite keen to do a deal on this car as well, anything to do with the supposd dropping of this colour?
  21. I test drove a 2004 53 plate 1.8 Zetec over the weekend. Very nice except that there was a noticeable wind whistle when driving at motorway speeds. All obvious things seemed ok (windows fully shut etc...) so any idea what that might be? Car was a 15k miler for sale for £9995, and they offered 5K on out picasso which is pretty much book.
  22. Thanks for the reply's guys. So it looks like to get the same equipment level that we have in our Picasso we will need to go for a Zetec as a minimum.
  23. Hi guys, first post on this forum... I am currently the owner of a 51 plate 1.8 16v Picasso, which both myself and my wife have both been very happy with. We are looking to change the vehicle for something a bit newer <1 year old. I like the look of the C-Max and I have browsed through this forum but do have a few questions: Our local Ford dealer have a couple of 2004 04 plate 1.8LX's both for £9995. Is this a good price? Dont know their mileage but would assume circa 10K The LX seems to be quite a low spec model and as far as I can see doesn't have a trip computer or anything.
