  1. No issues - other than those already stated in this forum (mines a 1.8 petrol) . I'm thinking of the extra power because we've struggled a bit on holiday with a full car and roof box. To me it's the best car available of it's kind. The handling is magnificent and drives very 'car' like. I've had many people laugh at me when I say we've a C-MAX - but it's a much better car than most appreciate (until they drive one). The electronic handbrake takes a bit of getting used to - but you will soon get the hang of it and love it. Other features I like are the quickclear windscreen, puddle lights in t
  2. I haven't dropped in for a while - so apologies if this has already been covered. Does anyone know anything about the new C-Max facelift. I think it's due out this year, but I don't know when or any model details. I've seen pictures and it looks good (in my opinion). I've had my 1.8 Ghia for nearly three years - so i'm looking to change. I've not found any other car that suits my needs so well. Its had a few minor issues - but overall it's been a great car and I love driving it (handles really well). :D I'm thinking of the 2.0 TDCi this time though - I think I need that ex
  3. This may have been covered already, but I haven't dipped into the forum for a while. Has anyone fitted an external boot bike carrier? Ford don't appear to do one. I can't put the bikes inside - we need people space. We can't put the bikes on the roof - we'll be using a roof box. Halfords do external boot one for MPV's but they're universal, so i'm not sure if they'll fit. Just wondered if anyone else has tried one to save me the trial & error! Thanks :)
  4. Mines the same - 12 month old Ghia. I wasn't even going to bother asking Ford - because I new what the outcome would be. They'd either refuse to do anything or make it worse. I'm gonna wait until it gets really bad and i'll give the seats a face lift by pulling the loose skin tight with bulldog clips!
  5. RTV - I still have a VW Bora 2.0 Manual Petrol Year 1999. The C-Max is the wifes. VW told me that it wouldn't be worth it and it would be around £1500 to fit. Which did puzzle me since it's only a £150 optional extra from new. I didn't get the car from new - before you say "well why didn't you it fitted then!" If you can name a company that might fit it - i'd be most interested! Sorry go off track - I know this is a CMAX forum.
  6. Me too ! We had a duff battery too. RAC man couldn't believe it on a 6 month old car. Anyway Ford sorted it - no problems since. Seems Ford have got another issue to go on the fix list!
  7. Did the dealer give you a price? I asked once for my VW and they wanted about £1500 What a joke !
  8. I always get Goodyear F1. Though I haven't any fitted to the CMAX yet - just the standard NCT5 http://www.goodyear.co.uk/services/tyre ... _gsd3.html Nice looking tyre with loads of grip. I've not found a Michelin with great grip so far. :D
  9. This has been covered elsewhere - couldn't find it this morning. Perhaps someone else will remember. There was some good info and pictures.
  10. I would have got the 2.0 petrol - but it wasn't available at the time - so I got the 1.8 petrol - which is fine. You have to way up what you are going to do with the car Jackblack. If I had endless amounts of money - I would have gone for the 2.0 TDCi however I don't and try to spend my money wisely. We estimated we would only do around 6000 miles per year and therefore MPG economy wasn't that important to us, so we weren't going to pay the extra £2K (I think at the time) for a TDCI. The 1.8 petrol was therefore the only choice for a reasonable amount of power. Obviously if you've paid the
  11. Happy new year to you all. Just wanted to report that our Christmas break to Brittany France was very successful with no incidents to report in our 1.8 Petrol Ghia. Two adults, two children and a full boot (to the roof with the travel pack). Over 1000 miles travelled - at least 85mph, sometimes 95mph+ and even a bit more. Average MPG was stating 33MPG when we got home - so i'm really pleased with that at the speed we were travelling. No excessive wind noise No annoying rattles from the dash No problems with handbrake No acceleration hestation No low fuel warnings (when full) The only
  12. Think this has been covered here... :D http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45193
  13. Mick, i've been looking into this myself and am confused/excited about your statement. I already had a Thule 750 footpack and 761 (120mm) bars for my old VW. I looked at the Thule website to see which new fitting kit I needed for my 750 footpack to fit the CMAX. To my horror it says you need a Fixpoint foot pack 4601 at £59.99 - which looks like you can't use the old 750 foot pack and just clip on a new fitting kit. Am I misunderstanding this. Please can you help?. I'm going to France in a few weeks and would really like to use my roofbox.
  14. Sorry to hear about your problems - I understand your frustration / anger. We have had problems recently (not like yours). When the dealer had our car on two breakdown occasions they first of all told us there was no courtesy car to take. When my wife shouted at them VERY loudly causing considerable commotion and embarrasment for them in the showroom - then soon found one. :o Think about it, how many cars do they have on the site whether for sale, demo, courtesy or staff? Hundreds. They can if pushed, do the necessary paperwork and get you a car. My advice SHOUT and don't back down !!
