  1. Factory fit (privacy glass) should be OK for the children. It is also a good sercurity extra as you can hardly see into the rear of the car from outside.
  2. I had it as an option and it is a total waste of money. It did not look any different and certainly made no difference to keeping the car clean. I agree that good quality cleaning materials are a must.
  3. Mastertech, Thanks for the reply regarding the Mercedes B Class (B200 SE CDI) - no its not the vito van, it's the A Class bigger brother. It drives and rides like the C-Max, has the same spec (except Heated Front Screen) and although initially more expensive will not depreciate as much. I've been offered £9K for my C-Max (2.0 ghia, Mar 2004, 17,000 miles) As for the S-Max - it's too big for what I want and after 9 x New Fords over the past 35 years I,ve had enough..................
  4. Mastertech. Could you give your considered opinion on Mercedes please, especially the B200 (C-Max size/shape)Would this be a better alternative to the C-Max. ie would you have one. thanks
  5. Can't help with your washer problem. However, a second service cost £175 at Reg Vardy, Calcot a couple of weeks ago. I don't know what they did differently this time - as the car feels rejuvenated.
  6. I've noticed that the rear wheels need more cleaning than the front (brake dust). Could this be indicative of extra wear ? Anyone else noticed this ?
  7. 1.6CMaxGhia appears to feel that 'it is a pretty reasonable response and pretty normal for a dealer not to have parts required for an intenational safety recall requiring urgent action by owners. I'm afraid I do not think it reasonable, or am I the only one. I went in yesterday to book my C-Max in for next week. Having been caught out before regarding 'parts on order' and having to return, I asked if they had the parts required - hence my suprise at the answer. I would have thought that any decent dealer would arrange stock dependant on the number of C-Max sold once they were aware of a s
  8. I went to Reg Vardy (Reading) to book mine in yesterday - they will not have the parts required until next Tuesday. Anyone else having similar responses - or is this a typical RV service centre answer.
  9. I have a March 2004 TDCi 2.0 Ghia with the optional 17" alloys. If anything, mine are the opposite - I changed the wheels around recently and found the centres tight to remove and replace. Yours should not be loose - get back to the dealer..............
  10. Noticed the pitting on my rear badge today - 14 month old Ghia.
  11. Thanks for all the comments peeps - at least I'm not alone. The techs at Reg Vardy diagnosed a discharged battery.... They could not find or replicate the problem causing the excessive discharge or failure to recharge.. They contacted Ford who (in their words) did not admit to an ongoing problem with the C-Max battery/charging system, but they did not dismiss the idea either. All snags/glitches/warning etc were cleared. Battery charged. collected car at 1600 and its going like a dream (as it should). I think I will keep an eye on the battery and maybe even trickle charge it once a month for
  12. I did think it might be the battery, but the headlights seemed OK when i checked. Hopefully the 'boffins' at Reg Vardy will suss it out.............
  13. Went to start up this morning, waited for glowplug light to go out , turned key and all hell broke out................ Engine not cranking, very loud 'whiring and clicking' from passenger footwell area. All dash warning lights flashing, clock not showing, speedo needle quivering, all warning beeps sounding and outside temp showing as minus 60. Turned ignition off, checked power of headlights which looked OK. Tried twice more but same result. Called out Britannia Rescue (turned up in 25 mins) the engineer had a go at starting with the key and got same result, had a look under the bonnet, che
  14. Can you post the 'part number' please so that I can order the correct mat - there were 3 to choose from in my local Ford Parts shop. They had none in stock (surprising) and they all looked the same on their computer line diagrams. Thanks..
  15. Totally agree............... I had the hesitation, fuel light and EPB 'fix' a couple of weeks ago and afterwards the car felt much improved. I had the safety recall work done day before yesterday and it feels even better now, especially the brakes - they feel much sharper and appear to have instant bite. Long may it last. Ian C
