  1. He wanted to charge me £20 cash in his back pocket to do whatever he was going to do to it. First thoughts were is it illegal to test drive and sell you a car when they have tweaked it from manufacturers spec. Then later i thought hmm more power  ... just wondered if anyone else had been offered anything like it from a ford main dealer...
  2. i am running mine in after paying 20k for it lol
  3. Hi everyone, I test drove a new ST2 at my local dealer before ordering my ST3 from them which i have now taken delivery of. I went back into the dealer today to collect mats and had a word off the record with the sales chap there that sold me the car. He said did i notice anything different between my car and the ST3 appart from the obvious extra kit. I said it felt quicker than mine but i may be used to it now. He said to me in the dealership that they have tweaked the turbo boost on the demo car to make it more appealing. I kicked off about it but his response was that he could twe
  4. i had a BIG problem with this - so much so that the dealer installed a 3rd party Nokia hands free bluetooth kit to get round the problem. Sadly i got a bill for £180 for the pleasure which the solicitors are dealing with at the moment!!
  5. Nice pics of the ST vs the VXR. Having sat in and driven both I felt the ST to be a much better car for me. I was attracted to the VXR's roar power figures but had a shock when i tried to get in the thing. I found the cabin of the VXR very small and even crampt compared to the new ST. I had much less visibility from within it due to a few blind spots around the car. The driving position wasnt comfy for myself with my longish legs (around 6ft tall) and the seats not as comfy as the ST. With regards to looks the VXR and the ST both look good in my mind but that would not be my ultimate rea
  6. im on "wear it in gently" mode at that moment so want to know how i "should" be driving it once its worn in..
  7. Does anyone have a good gide to when to change gear in the new ST? I know for the ST170 there were guides to change to keep the power/torque up for each gear...
  8. yer ive driven it very lightly so far with a couple of blasts to 4k rpm... tbh the new ST seems to drive like a diesel from its pull so far... it seems to like changing at low rpms to keep maximum torque.
  9. Okay, Got myself a new ST3 and have been told different things about running it in. Place of purchase: Doesnt need running in boot it all you like from 8 miles on the clock Another Franchise Ford dealer: Keep below 4k RPM for up to 250 miles Non-franchise Ford dealer: Do not use more than 1/2 the throttle for the first 1,000 miles Local non-ford garage: New cars always run them in slowly for a good 500 miles Anyone else got any ideas? Cant wait to boot it and see the power but having mixed response from Ford garages on how long to wait
  10. yep standard ST3 should have manual but heated leather seats i believe...
  11. "overtake car in front" car pulls out and slowly cruises past "overtake car in front QUICKLY" car floors it lol
  12. i would reject a new car with 200 miles on the clock. i know a leased car turned up with 1500 miles on it and the chap at work that had that was stuck with it.. again brand new... renault velsatis... only cost him 180 a month for 18 months... cheap for the car...
  13. Thats a * * * * - i know some of the new cars ive taken delivery of in the past have come with 30-40 miles on delivery mileage... if they have thrashed it round for a bit then its not gonna last by what your saying...?
  14. its covered under warranty though isnt it so if ya thrashing it below 1k mileage and blows up you take it back.. simple?? :)
  15. So it doesnt say drive below a set RPM for the first 1000 miles then? Hopefully since its a more powerful and torquier engine i wont need to thrash it to get decent speed in its run in period :) also sods law its gonna snow when i take delivery of the car so wont be able to do much but ice sake for a while anyway lol
  16. ordered mine last Saturday but the dealerships said you dont have to "run the engine in" anymore. is this true or is he trying to get me to blow it up... with my ST170 i had to run it in for i think 800 miles doing max 3.5k RPM...?
