my ST3 has one touch down but not one touch up - also no global opening or closing of windows... tshhh 25k for a car and it wont even open the windows... tshhh :)

hmm sorry mate - just taken pics and the wonderful digital kodak camera that i have uses the flash in every shot. therefore everything is bright and all u see is a tiny bit of red. in the dark its all black so i cant win. i will try again tomorrow for u when i get a bit of light behind me - camera is 6yr old..

If you get chance to post some photo's, would love to see red versions, as I have only seen blue and green. will pop out now and take some pics - as mentioned before my white roof light drowns them out a tad but anyway that can be my next project when you answer your PM!!! :-)

Trying to do the foot well lighting mod to my Focus ST but have already got confused ordered the wrong ones!!! ive gone for red lights too and fitted the footwell lights - looks very nice although my front door opening activated central light drowns them out. looking to change this to red too but it will need to be pretty bright. Also does anyone else have a rear light in their ST - mine seems to only have one light at the front and the two map lights...

I am using red lights - the footwell ones look cool but my normal interior lights now drown it out thus my request :)

Where do you get the bulbs to replace the interior roof lights as per your pic? do you have a model number also any hints as to how to access them to change the bulbs? I bought 4 red 501's thinking there were 2 bulbs at each sides of the footwells but there seems to be only 1 bulb for the driver and 1 for the passenger side. Is this also correct?

I agree mate, Fords figures have always been nearly imposible to replicate although i am sure i have read in small print somewhere that th MPG values are measured using 4th gear at 30mph or something. yer well we all need fuel whether its for fun or for work Sorry, the point I was attempting to make was that when contemplating the purchase of an ST, fuel economy would not be top of the list. As you say though, it is and will always be a factor. Ford's figures are impossible to achieve, or even come remotely close.

rofl @ the MPG wishlist I get 17-18mpg out of my Focus ST 2.5L purely because of stop start traffic all the way to work and home again. The 33MPG i should be getting has almost halved!!

the focus needs to be shiny clean to notice the colour issue ulsterfocus. in this weather ya probably wont notice it

If you are driving an ST does it matter whats in front of you? :twisted:

bottom line: If you want a new focus ST do what the rest of us do and PAY FULL PRICE ya cheap skates!! :lol: I did and i got my car within 2 weeks :D

well if anyone is fed up of waiting and has a lot of money to spare, I would accept the price i paid for my ST3 + a premium. My new ST3 has sub 1k miles on the clock, and has been washed every weekend to date. I love the car but if people are desperate and want one asap, im prepared to wait :)

i know a lot of ford dealers have managers driving ST's round... purely so that they can demo the car of course.... so yes i see how they have snapped up the first batch :)

they do that with transporters - fill them up then send them to the dealers..... makes sense to do it with boats too

Thats not good - I ordered mine at start of December and had it within two weeks. My order was a footballers cancelled order apparently and was an ST3 in Blue. Naturally i got no choice on spec but still two week turn around seems good when people ordering september are waiting till March... I expect the rich people out there are walking in with 30k and saying i want it by next week... thats why a lot of orders are dissapearing...

Going from the ST170 to the new ST3 I am very impressed with the size, stability and especially comfort of the new ST3 especially as i use it daily to do 36 miles commuting (over an hour). My ST170 main problem was that the power delivery was on and off. Some days it had power, some days it was very sluggish and 1.8 Zetecs were pulling away. Hot weather killed its performance and the ride was quite harsh. This new car seems okay with constant good perfomance. The ride is smoother and it has that bit more power. Yer I know up here in yorkshire they are pulling drivers that are talking with the phone held on their shoulder to their ear even tho both hands are on the wheel. i think they are getting a fine AND penalty points... grrr police... is there any escape? :)

Thats interesting - I was told by the local police station that to avoid any problems with the police and using a mobile phone whilst driving, that you have to have the phone in a cradle and a way of operating the phone without moving your hand too far away from the steering wheel. They too emphasised not touching the phone - Even if its in the cradle. The law is getting daft now isnt it...

i ordered my ST3 with a bluetooth phone kit. It came with a third party Nokia phone kit which is not at all linked in with the car other than automuting the radio + sound coming out of the speakers when it rings. There is a cradle to the left of the radio with a push button next to my steering wheel which glows blue. All operation has to be done via voice tags. Was NOT happy when i got this from the dealer but they insisted it is much better and more reliable than the normal built in bluetooth (which apparently got missed off my order). There have been problems of bluetooth turning itself
