  1. can you get a jetex ? Is there any info available on such a filter ?
  2. I agree, bit thirsty....Mine only generally does 640kms per tank, about 400 miles, biit I live in madrid which is full of traffic jams. (My cars averaging 20kmh at the moment on the computer) Not convinced its as strong as the VW unit in the mid range either. Its also a bit laggy compared to the VW unit ! Im not sure if its much quicker that the 1.8 tdci unit really. Seems to get a lot of varied reports in the performance of the 1.8. The 2.0 is a heavier car but has more torque and bhp. So its possible that the two things balance out. I would be curious what people thing that have upgrad
  3. Hi all, Dont wish to come across as a boy racer but has anyone tested the 50.70 times for the new focus 2.0 TDCI ? I have fitted a TUNIT to mine and am getting around 4.5 seconds in 4th, and around just under 7 in 5th. Cars only done 8000ish Kms so possibly it has a bit more to go before its truly run in. Cant actually say what the standard figures are as I didnt have enough time. I know that some focus 1.8 tdcis can hit mid 4 seconds 50-70 in 4th but give that the focus II is heavier, and given that normally 50-70 in mid 4s on a Mk1 is normally with a chip installed (Which I also have
  4. I've been playing around with the consumption for a while and I thought that I would try to drive a little more sensibly to see what the consumption is like as I have just fitted a tunit on my 2.0 diesel focus. At the moment I have 6.6lts/100kmh on the computer. This got me to thinking how much i should have, theoretically on a full 53ltr tank of diesel. If you calculate this on the basis of 6.6 you should get 803 kms per tank of fuel, which is ok in my books. If you actually look on my trip computer and add the kms driven so far and the kms left I have 710 on a 6.6ltr/100kmh average.
  5. Hi all, Anyone come across water dripping into the car from the top of the drivers door (Mines LHD) when it rains ? Its the first time the car has been in rain (Does not rain in Madrid in summer) so it has only happened today. Its coming through where the door frame, and its seal, meets the door apeture seal. Ive taken a look and there seems nothing amiss, all seals appear to interface well with no gaps for anything to get in. The cars also got a fair bit of wind noise so Im wondering if the point of entry for the water is also the cause of the wind noise. I originally suspected the wing
  6. whoops just realised that this is the c-max forum, mines a focus...sorry to all

  8. Just got the car back from the ford dealer and they told me that they have ran some diags on the car (didnt tell me if they had upgraded the software though) for the consumpttion - was getting about 700kms per tank. I have noted that after the diags the fuel consumption has shot up to 12lts per 100kmh. Hard to tell what it will do in the open road as Ive only driven it around madrid capital. Does anyone have a clue what running diags does ? Im wondering if the computer has been reset and needs a little time to settle in. Ive never seen more than 7.9ltrs/100km before the garage has looked a
  9. hmmm, perhaps you are right. Its a lot easier to drive fast in Spain Perhaps I expect too much.
  10. I believe that the aircon glovebox comes with the climate pack, at least in spain. I think that all it does is pipe the aircon into the glovebox I called the ford dealer in madrid today and apparently they want me to take the car iin tomorrow. It would have been nice if they had called me before I had called them. Again, they can deal with the rattling left door, ratting gear knob, the wind noise at around 100mph, and the crap economy. The car is quiet in general but does it gets a whistling noise (And I mean like a whistle) at around 100 mph (Sounds like a flute !) I know that people
  11. Ever tried taking a car back to a spanish dealer and getting anything done ? Im still waiting ror them to fit my air conditioned glovebox , which ford forgot to fit. The last time I took in the car , to have it fitted, I got the car back and they had not fitted it and had not told me either when I collected it. They told me sorry we have not ordered a part and well let you know when it arrives. I'm still waiting....
  12. Worked it out....about 37 miles to the gallon.......hmmm still seems low.
  13. hmm, I live in Spain (Madrid) and my focus has around 4000 miles on it. I normally average 700mks per tank whiich is not brilliant (About 435 miles) I do accelarate quite quicky but mostly in madrid :( its traffic jams. Then i find that the economy on the car is awful. The trip computer at present is showing 7.3litres per 100/km. Compare that against my spanish friend with 5 something....... However I have a friend who has the 2.0 tdci modeo (130bhp) and he normally get 700kms per tank. So is mine good or bad....dont know..My clio 1.5dci did better, normally 770 kms tank but the
  14. Thanks to all for the replies. I guess I´ll wait for the running in...When I first got the car I got mashed by a mk3 golf tdi and was a little suprised considering the close match in bhp and torque. I guess the engine needs to loosen up a little...
  15. Thanks for the reply Tony, appreciated. So it does imply that the accelarator must be floored. So a bit odd why mine doesnt :(
  16. Hi all, I have a 2.0 tcdi sport focus with just over 5000 kilometers on the clock. I have read in various places that the over boost works by flooring the accelerator. Oddly enough on my car the sensation of maximum acceleration seems to be when the throttle in NOT fully depressed but 3/4 of the way down. When I put my foot to the floor the car seems to be holding back a little. So is overboost really flat to the floor ? Anyone know anything about this ? Also can anyone approximate when the car will be fully run in. 5000kms is only just over 3000 miles. Perhaps not much and perhaps the
