  1. I finally narrowed it down to the front interior light lens! Not the dash at all, I just messed about with the lens a bit and it seems to have stopped!
  2. I thought I would reply as no one else seems to up untill now! I had a detachable towbar fitted to mine (avoids confusing the parking sensor, doesn't bang your legs and looks better, when removed) I tow an unbraked trailer mgw 500 kgs and a braked folding camper mgw 650kgs and it performed fine with less pitching than my Astra Estate (shorter rear overhang on the c max) but reversing wasn't as easy (same reason). Shame the parking sensor can't be extended to the rear of the trailer as well. Obviously the caravan has more weight and side surface area so is more of a consideration.
  3. Sadly it's too old to take back, It's an'04 reg. Thanks for the help I took the mirror out and it seems as though the small black part on the left side is broken. I will have find out if I can just get this bit. Any ideas on the other part I mentioned on the rear of the console?
  4. Yes, it seems as though the manual is wrong, I actually took my car back to the dealer as I thought that the 'auto pilot' wasn't working!!
  5. Before i bought my car I noticed the same problem and asked for it to be fixed prior to delivery as I noticed the £115 price tag of a new one as well. They fixed it but I don't know how. They didn't replace the whole top part. There doesn't feel to be a click or anything as it closes or any spring to retract it. It just stays where you move it to.
  6. On my car,The upper tip out type cubby thing on the rear of the Ghia centre console ( the one that you see when sitting in the back ) seems to be pushed in and will only open when the whole top of the console is tipped open and then it falls open. I assume it's broken. How should it open? Any ideas on how to repar/ replace it? Also my son (aged 3) seems to have broken the rear seat viewing mirror and it does not stay folded away and doesn't open to the correct position any more. Any ideas how it works or how to remove it to investigate?
  7. Does anyone know if this can be done and at what cost as the brochure says it is a dealer fit option?
  8. I have finally got my C Max back complete with brand new engine! but I am now noticing a deep buzzing sound coming from the dash area particularly on deceleration. I thought it was coming from junk in the glovebox but my passenger says its coming from the driver's side Any ideas?
  9. Don't misunderstand me, It was the Dealer that wrecked the engine! - A bolt head was sheared off which made it's way into the engine hence the 'misfire' I thinke the dealer has now recieved his judgement!
  10. Guess what? Engine wrecked!! New one on order (Yes ,seriously) Need I say more? :brickwall
  11. Latest.. Guess what? New inlet manifold fitted & working - Hooray! But.... ''The engine has developed a misfire and we've tested it but don't know what's causing it so we're taking the head off again tomorrow and if the head is found to be faulty then Ford will arrange for you to get a bigger car for your journeys (I bet there won't be enough time to get it to me by Saturday- How convenient!) If the fault is not with the cylinder head then we'll keep your car and see if we can get a half blind, untrained chimp to fix it with sellotape and string as he can obviously do a better job than we
  12. Well, here's the latest: I rang customer relations who in turn rang CD Bramall but they wouldn't accept that there was a problem and wouldn't back me up. They said that the dealership was a business in their own right etc. etc. They wouldn't help with my plea for a larger courtesy car at all. They even had the cheek to suggest I rang the technical support department on premium rate of £1 / minute.! I don't think so!! I also rang Motorpoint but they said they couldn't help. I managed to get them to ring CD Bramall to try and put the presssure on. (maybe in hindsight this may have had a negat
  13. Thanks for that, I'll give customer relations a ring in the morning. I can't remember what stamp is on the service book as it is in the car but I think it was a non-Ford garage and the car was previously registered to Ford
  14. I have been reading this forum for some time but have only just signed up so let me tell you the story of our C-max.... At the beginning of June we decided to shell out for a newer car and chose the c-max as it suited our needs and both my wife (5' 0") and I (6'2") would be able to drive comfortably and give enough room for our 2 children's legs behind me (no, we don't just have a pair of legs rolling around in the back before you ask). We chose an 04 reg 1.6 tdci ghia in silver with black leather, showing 11,000 miles (and a service stamp in the book) from Motorpoint in Burnley (and got conn
