  2. hi morgan, my dad been working at fords for 30yrs now, and for the past 10yrs, on and off buying brand new cars, as a rule of thumb, its not advisable to pay extra options as when it comes to trade in, you dnt anything back for it. werent really given a ball part figure in terms of valuation for my motor, just said roughly a changeover would be around 2k mark, so if i was ready to deal, i like to think i can change over for 1.5k. will keep you update.
  3. im changing it, as im trying to get a new one for sept 1st. yes i am on the privillege. went to a dealer the other day, at the mo its around 2k to changeover like for like. but he said to come back in july, thats when they can start offering better deals. so will keep u posted.
  4. hi guys. my motor is 9 months old now, and i thinking about trading it in for a new one. its a panther black 1.6 vvti ghia, only 4,500 miles on the clock. was wandering if anyone has traded in their motor recently, and would anyone know what change over would be to a similar brand new ghia on employee discount. just want to know what is good figure to have in mind before i go into the showrooms over the nxt few weeks. thanks
  5. had my foci 1.6 115 ghia for about 6wks, havent covered too many miles in it yet, only 600. but it will be due for its first service end of next month. just wandering, if they actually do anything to the car, other then jus a 'courtesy' check? as is - do they do anything to the ecu??
  6. doh!! i have read it properly now! silly me!!..... out of interest, going back to my point.... what would happen if policy holder, and registered keeper were different, but you didnt declare it?....
  7. i dont how big a risk it is ian, but if u put the insurance policy under your dads name, and have car registered to yourself, well it invalids your insurance..... maybe i am wrong?? but its worth checking it out mate...
  8. James - i tried that cycle, it works on the drivers side, but no joy on the passengers side :? Ronaldo - i aint too concerned about fuel economy just yet, as car is only done 180 miles or therebouts. it will definatly get better. I aint got a picture of it yet. once i have one, will post it up.
  9. Hi there, Picked up my new focus on september 1st, and i must say i am very surprised with it, in that it exceed my expectations. Its a bog standard 1.6 115 Ghia, Panther Black. Havent done too many miles yet, still havent refilled the tank, average mpg is showing around 28mpg, not too worried about this as mileage is only 180miles. Very impressed with the quality of the cabin, build quality. In fact very hard to fault. If i was to fault it, then i guess the only thing i can find wrong with is the annoying belt minder!..... My previous includes - Escort 1.8 Ghia x, which was great
