  1. I'll check but this looks like my car. No news on another facelift for the C-Max anywhere. Is this April 1?
  2. Two other possibilities. Richbrook or Momo. Both can be found on ebay in the interior styling section. trouble is they are a bit "radical" which is fine but I don't think suits an otherwise standard C-Max. I suspect the guys at Ford Parts will get back to me tomorrow now.
  3. I've asked the guys at Ford Parts UK if this is compatable with a new Focus C-MAx
  4. Its is threaded according to a thread in "Interiors" I just need to grab the end and keep twisting. A technique I'm not unfamiliar with of course. I pretty certain I'm going for one of those you mentioned. One other to checkout but I prefer the style of that one. I'll let you know
  5. I had a quick go tonight. It doesn't appear to be on a thread, it turns OK. Possibly a circlip holding it on and it just pulls off. Need to wait for daylight
  6. Not tried that yet but I guess you're right. Thats possibly the downside but weighed against either ruining the thin carpet or just getting it dirty with heavy loads it seems a fair compromise. It rolls up nicely when removed. I carry golf clubs a lot so it will be a life saver for me. Actually I find the way the seats in the back slide back and sideways when required a real bonus when my little girl sits in the back. Gives her tons of room and is a clever feature. Not tried it with the mat yet as I said Anyone with a simple tip/technique on removing a gear knob?
  7. ...and no. I meant the netball team. They were very small. Moi! Exaggerate, surely not.......
  8. I meant "anti-slip". Its a black rubber/plastic anti-slip mat that covers the whole of the boot area and keeps the floor clean. It has a lip around the edge to keep the bits in. They are in the Ford accessory list. Cost =£35 from the dealer which is the same as copies on ebay. Looks good
  9. Well, I'll put the Swedish national netball team in mine and be damned....
  10. Thanks. It does look rather nice. Should be a case of screw off old screw on new. If its an exact fit for the C-Max. They do some other Focus replacement knobs as well. No mention of anything C-Max so I presume most are pretty much the same fit/length
  11. Mind you, it depends if its solid Aluminium or the thin plate on plastic used on the original..
  12. Like your knob sir! Where from? Now its been mentioned I notice mine has a edge where the plastic jois the top. Now its bugging me like a piece of cabbage trapped in my teeth. Its gotta go. Make sure your new one is 6 speed with the recerse to the left. "Hangs to the left? Suits you sir!"
  13. Not boiled sweets though Tim :) Don't want to encourage even more rattles than some are suffering

  15. I would think so andy. I note that my 2.0 TDCi does not like being stationary in traffic the mpg suffers until I get on the open road again. At 70mph (sorry Gwyn) I average 55-58mpg
  16. I'm sorry to hear about your sharp edges 1955. Mines Ok as I say. Interestingly Ford have engaged with the VW design team "to work on quality" for the new fantastic looking Mondeo. (Look at Auto Express for pictures). Only worry there is I have looked at the new Passat and the interior is not as good as they used to be with the same issues that we are talkng about here. I have grown to really, really like my C-Max now even after only 6 days. I would glady have paid an extra £50- 100 more to have these "minor" weak points addressed.
  17. Forgot those. A sunglasses holder for Leela from Futurama. My knob is ok with a shiny silver top. If you get my drift.....isn't yours? If Ford had built some of the interior with the same care as the chassis etc etc the car would be damn near perfect. Some spotty kid fresh out of Uni probably did those parts as his gap year project. ....
  18. 1. Carpet in the "boot" is a bit sad. I've seen more substantial tissues after a hard blow when suffering from flu. So i've fitted the rubber slip mat 2. Lids on cig compartment as above (only without the mat - DOH!) 3. Fairly pointless and flimsy storage compartment on top of dash 4. Possibly the lack of bite in first and second compared to 3/4/5. Not hesitation or flat just a bit lacking. Marginal and maybe it will loosen up after a few k miles or maybe its the gearing? Thats it really. What a pants car
  19. Spoke to a local car audio shop and he was amazed at my enthusiasm and strong recommendation for DAB. Didn't seem to know much about it and obviously wasn't suggesting it to customers. Big mistake. DAB with the right aerial for good reception is peerless. Clear solid stereo sound on every radio station, no fade, no crackle. The cricket in glorious stereo from Radio 5 Sportrax. SAtalite transmission is aways off yet but when the Gov shuts down the analogue TV signal it will free up even more bandwidth for quality radio. At least thats the plan Lots of features , useful ones, on the Woodstock
  20. Kind of with you on the Sony thing. Reputations, even harsh ones stick. I'm a big Bluespot fan however, they work, look good and are reliable. Not into the big booming sound, piped into the National grid systems. Trouble is they are a bit pricey and having to get a diplex (combined FM/am/DAB) roof aerial for neatness at £100 just adds to the cost. The Sony option is a lot cheaper but mmmm, its a Sony and they are not as good to look at IMO (plain is good) like the Blau's. Keen on keeping the C-Max as free of aerials and stuff as possible even to the point of NOT having a mobile cradle instal
  21. If and its a big if I wanted to replace my speakers in my C-Max (on topic  ) when I change my HU to either the SOny DAB 6650 (single Din) or the Blaupunky DAB 54 (ditto) has nay one any mid range straight swap recommendations please ?
  22. Its all down to luck Dennis. Just sold my 5 year old Passat 1.9 TDi Estate Sport with 102 k on the clock. Never had a part replaced except the usual trye and service items. Built like brick out house and never a rattle, squeak or breakdown. Most of that era are the same in my experience. Looked at the new Passat...and it not a patch on the old inside and certainly not better than my Zetec which says more for Ford of course than it does for VW and their cost cutting drive.
