  1. I have a 2004 C-Max Ghia with "puddle lights" in the bottom of the wing mirrors. They used to light up when you opened the car with the remote but now they only light up when you open the doors, has anyone had the same problem? Took it in to the local dealers and they said the battery was faulty (never had any other electrical problems) and that would cost me £135! Ford UK eventually agreed to pay 50% but the fault is still there when I got it back!
  2. Hi, My C-max is going in for the 3 year service neat week (electronic handbrake) they have said that they will strip and lubricate the rear brakes as part of the service. Do anyone know if it would be cheaper to get them replaced at the service? PS how much lining do the new pads have? PPS Has anyone put a how to on here to change them if I have to do them myself?
  3. Hi does anyone know the new technical bulletin number for fixing the creaking door seals? Flippy mentioned a new bulletin but didn't know the number. Any ideas?
  4. When I unlock my car with the remote the "puddle lights" used to come on and stay on as I walked up to the car, now they just flash on momentarily and don't come on until I open the doors. Also sometimes after a journey when I switch the ignition off and take the key out the doors lock! Has anyone else had this happen?
  5. I had my door seals replaced in July 2006 and by September they were creaking again! I've tried waxing the door frames and rubber lubricant on the seals but they start to squeak after a few days! Rang the Customer Relationship Centre today as it was them who agreed that they could be replaced under warranty and they told me to contact the dealer as it was the dealer who had carried out the repair. I said that there was a problem with the seals not the way that they were fitted, but they insist that I go back to the dealer, who I'm sure will say it's Ford UK's problem!!!! Can anyone suggest a w
  6. I took my car to have the new door seals fitted yesterday to cure the squeaking. An hour later I had a call from the Service Manager to say that when they looked at the bulletin on the computer they did not have all of the parts as the bulletin had been updated and additonal parts were required. Has this happened to anyone else?
  7. Took my C-Max in Monday to my local dealer to have the usual work done (radio resetting fix, HID fix, boot release fix, and EGR fix) and I mentioned the creaking door seals and showed them SSM18717 (cheers Tesscott). When I picked the car up today they told me that because the car was over a year old that Ford wouldn't pay for the seals and their fitment (parts approx £90, labour (4 x 0.8 hours x £49/hour) = £157 Total £247!!). Has anyone else faced this problem and is there any way that I could convince Ford to agree to pay for the seals?
  8. Now that we have the cold weather here I am starting to notice that the heater takes a while to start blowing warm has anybody else had the same problem? I have the sat nav audio which also controls the climate control, and I have read that if you put it onto "hi" it starts an auxilary heater, I know that mine hasn't got a diesel pre-heater that is fitted to some cars in colder Countries, but is there an electrical heater in the cooling system?
  9. Could anybody please tell me when the latest mapping DVD was released and what the part number is? Can you add speed camera locations as a POI as you can on Tom Tom Go's etc? Also is there a way that I can use my phone through this unit?
  10. About 3 weeks ago. Took me ages to get one! Missed a few. I'll keep my eye open for you! Got it for £22.50 delivered!
  11. I have the one in the picture got it off ebay. It's the genuine Ford one and it is quite a deep pile one side and rubber on the other, it's a good fit. I have put it on top off the original one and I can still slide the seats backwards. Think you can buy it from Ford, but the retail cost is around £70
  12. Hi Tesscott, Yes it is for a C-Max, some people on here have been suggesting using a Megane wiper but it looks a little short, I wondered if anybody had tried anything else. Cheers
  13. Hi, Could somebody please tell me the best rear wiper and arm to use to tidy the rear end up. Cheers Maxter
