  1. Thanks guys :) I've been recommended to get a Bodyshop to do a written report. Then see solicitor. Take decent photo's. Put together letter rejecting car with provisor that I will only accept the car if fixed to my satisfaction. Send to Ford, delivering dealer and copy to Solicitor. Feels like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut! All I want is the seals sorting and the doors aligning properly. Surely this should be easier than having to do the above? When my dads car gets delivered in 3 months time i'll be all over it like a rash. If thats not right i'll be frog mareching my da
  2. Peter - I think the light didnt help but the distance is the same for 5 & 6. I've just been out and they're definately different just strolling round comparing them - both same place under the mirror on either side of car.
  3. Thanks c-max, I see what you mean about the short seal. I think i'll send an email to Ford Customer Services with link to this thread and other I have running regarding this problem and ask them how they intend to rectify this along with a letter to them with pictures. I feel giving them 14 days to rectify the problem is fair and if not i'll reject the car. After reading how some people get the runaround from dealers etc I cant be bothered and would rather take them to small claims court after 14 days than mess around. I'll keep you guys informed how this works out along with any progress. I
  4. I have a little cubby hole to the right of the steering column where you could put change. Only problem is that if you put your foot down i can see the change flying all over the car! Have you tried those small pint size pop bottles in those side pockets?
  5. Here's some pictures of my doors and seals. The first two show where the seal can be clearly seen in the yellow ring not contacting window with a visible gap. Be grateful if you guys would offer me your opinion.
  6. I've just been for a spin and the flutter of turbulence is still there but being windy today the cars getting blown about a bit too so not a good day for testing :( I've reset the window memory but still the same. One thing I can see is that some of the window seals in particular the ones on the leading edge of the window do not contact the window. I'll go take some pictures and post them to check door alignment etc. Be back soon. Thanks, Chris
  7. I know how you feel with the post dissapearing trick :( Only way i find to prevent it is to copy my post before hitting the post now button if thats of any help. Thanks for your offer of help asking your dealer about the wind noise. Much appreciated :) I remember reading about the memory with the windows but didnt take much notice. How i hate reading manuals. Goes against my learn by playing mentality  Don't worry about going out specially for the wind noise testing (unless your looking for an excuse to go out in the car  ). Im going to go out in my Dads Rover this afternoon an
  8. Craig - Your idea about the memory of the window sounds spot on. I'm going to do a clean of the inside this afternoon so i'll get the manual out and have a play. Fingers crossed this cures it :) Cheers, Chris
  9. thanks peterdee, I hope you guys don't mind me cut'n'pasting your comments and i'll take them with me and show the workshop manager them and see if they will play ball. I'll ring Ford Customer Services before I go and get a name to quote to back me up so they can't fob me off. Come to think of it though would i not be better off going to another dealership. There's 3 or 4 round here so could be a good chance to see which are worth using for my servicing etc. Why do dealerships behave like this? Don't they like doing work and getting paid for doing it by Ford?
  10. Thanks Obasa :) Would the approach you mentioned above be applicable with a dealership that I had not bought the car from? Its only done 380 miles.
  11. My new C-Max is beginning to turn into a mini saga so would be grateful for you guys opinion. When I test drove the C-Max five weeks ago I noticed how quiet the car was driving along. Now I own one I find there is a slight wind turbulence noise eminating from the drivers door somewhere. I took it to a dealer near me on Thursday and they took a look at it. Their conclusion was that after playing with the door seals this noise is normal for a car of this bulk and I will have to live with it. I took their word for it and went away, but today i travelled in the passenger seat and it is silent with
  12. Hehe, Peter - I actually wish now I had gone for the ghia with all the extra's. After seeing Craig's with all the toys I wish I had splurged on the full monty. I have no toys
  13. Craig - Dont worry about the dirt. You cant see it when your sat inside  I'm surprised your having trouble with the wheels. I got hold of some "Meguiars" alloy wheel cleaner. I just spray a mist of it over my wheels, leave for 5 mins then rinse off. Leaves the alloys like new every time :) Sounds like my local dealer can't be bothered about the turbulence noise as they reckoned they'd played with the door seals but no change. Seems to occur at anything over 35ish mph :? I'm now wondering if its perhaps the window not nipping up to the seals properly? The ECU update I was told was a
  14. piccys of disney_cjd's motor:- That motors georgeous m8  I'll post a picture of my sat nav setup with Pocket PC to show off what the poverty version looks like  You'll never get bored of that motor - can see why your keeping it for 20 years.
  15. Your getting better mpg than me. Im getting 33 ish but that is with short runs of 4 miles or so in congested traffic. I have seen 40 when doing motorway on the tank of diesel the car came with. Must remind myself to be gentle with the right foot  Tacho says 380 miles thus far so hopefully will get a lot better when ive done my thousand and start booting it to free the motor up a bit. Only problem i've had with the car is the engine warning light staying on but after its ECU update on Thursday everythings been great :) Only thing that I do notice is the slight wind noise from the driver
  16. tdBBci - Ouch! :( Have you a lot of toys specified? My Zetec with heated screen took 3 weeks from ordering, being built, to being delivered to my door FWIW. I bought mine through a Fleet supplier so am wondering if they're getting preferential treatment over the smaller dealers perhaps? Has your dealer given you the date it rolls off the production line yet?
  17. Hi disney_cjd, I've pm'ed you regarding the picture hosting. Is there any chance of doing some pictures of all the toys and interior? Sorry to be cheeky in asking but would love to see what the fully loaded C-Max looks like inside. Nice choice the Tonic. My local dealer has his demo's in that colour and they look real nice. Did you go for the leather interior? [EDIT] Hehe - just looked at your other thread  I bet thats one sweet car to be sat in :D Nice choice in the motor. I had to put my foot down pulling away from a sliproad today and woah - not slow! :D
  18. Cheers c-max :) That black looks so sexy. My dad has a thing for black cars so i better not let him read this thread or i'll never hear the end of it! I'll be cleaning up the interior tomorrow so will post some pics of the comfort seats in action when i've finished. When its setup in 2 seat mode in the back its like sitting in a limo 8) Keep the pictures rolling in guys - be nice to get a full set of all the colours.
  19. Hi, I promised a few days ago to post some piccys of my car when i got it but been too busy enjoying it so thought about time to do the decent thing  If anyone would like me to post any pictures of the interior or other views let me know and i'll sort them out for you. I know how i felt looking through the catalogues/reviews, and only ever seeing silver clones  in the flesh didnt really help me choose the colour i really wanted, so hope this may help someone. If anyone else has any pictures would be nice to have some more to keep the above company 8) Maybe even a sticky thre
  20. thanks for the info guys :) The more I think about it the more I wonder if it may be due to my alarm being fitted that has falsely tripped the diagnostics. Guess I should stop worrying and enjoy the car  One thing I have noticed is that the brakes are razor sharp! When I leave home and come to the top of our street just tapping the brake pedal jolts the car to a halt at junctions. Would it be possible to have this adjusted? I feel the brakes are way over powered.
  21. Thanks for the advice :) I will get in touch with the dealer first thing Monday morning. Don't fancy disconnecting the batter as i can envisage me having to fight with the Audio manual this time round, trying to get the damn key code into the cd player :( Problem I have though is the dealer is in Northampton and I live 200 miles away. Would it be easier to go to a local dealers service department and get them to look at it? If there's anything wrong would'nt they just bill Ford as it should be covered by the warranty? c-max - I bet that squeaks annoying :( Maybe remind your dealer of the I
  22. I've been busy for the past few days trying to get to know my car and have at last started to get into depth with the manual. I noticed that when i start the car i can turn the ignition so all the upfront display lights come on - they all light up for a few seconds then all go out. Then when i proceed to turn the ignition to its limit to start the engine it fires up fine but the "Engine Warning Light" lights up and stays lit up for the duration of the journey and only extinguishes when the engine is turned off :? Until I read the manual i thought nothing of it but now am wondering what is ca
  23. Thanks for the new forums guys :D I got my C-Max today and have been running about getting salt all over it today :( Loads of questions to come when i've finished trying to decipher the user manual :? I'll post some pictures tomorrow and start those questions when i get a spare moment from playing. Cheers, Chris
