  1. hmm... interesting stuff. I was going to say i think ive found the problem but the last post would may also be possible. There is a hole on the door seal on the car side just above where the lock is, it has worn away but i cannot see what it has been rubbing onto? have been away this week but will ring ford on monday for a cost for a new seal - im hoping this is the cause of the problem... will report back next week - anyone know the rough cost of a new seal? cheers for your help Matt
  2. cheers guys - the car is currently frozen and dark but will check first thing and report back many thanks Matt
  3. Well - today i have finally gone and purchased the new strips for the boot so i dont get wet back seats so one water probelm sovled. i have since found another water problem when i cleaned the car just i have removed the front drivers car mat to find the bottom left corner soaked with water - this happened the last time i cleaned it but it had been very wet so i thought it had just gone around the mat and underneath. These are carpetted rubber mats so it is not possible for the water to seep through from the top. Has anyone else had this problem or could suggest as to where the water is comi
  4. same problem here guys - been to ford with it now 3 or 4 times, have had spark plugs and leads changed but always comes up with no fault every time it goes it - it will do it once but then may not do it for a few weeks or couple of months - very bizarre.... matt
  5. thanks for that guys - quick update, took it in yesterday, they said it was water ingress into the spark plugs - i had had this problem before which another dealer supposedly fixed but there was no record on the ford database of the work carried out. New spark plugs & leads have been put on but during the software update the speedo and fuel guage now doesnt work so it is currently still in the garage. I will mention ford technical and enquire when i go back to the garage shortly. i'll keep you posted... Matt
  6. Hi guys, got the car booked into the garage for tuesday (2005 mk2) but thought id ask around and see if anyone has any clues to the problem im having. Basically when driving along keeping the speed and the revs the same the car will judder along. It only happens after the car has been driven for about 20 mins and the longer you drive the more it does it and the more obvious it becomes. The car was only serviced about a month ago but has been in before because it will randomly not start first time. The only problem is when it goes to the garage they can never fault it. Has anybody had
  7. just to ressurect this - did anybody have any luck when you took it back to ford? thanks - Matt
  8. At last - ive found some people who have the same problem!! it is quite possibly the most annoying thing ever as it will not fault when its in the garage. Although im away tomorrow for 3 weeks ill keep on checking back so if you could let me know how you got on i would be most grateful many thanks matt
  9. Help - Ford think im crazy, lol!! The problem i am having is that my focus will intermittently not start first time - there appears to be no pattern to it - it does it sometimes when it is cold, hot, wet or dry?!?!? Normally when it does it it will keep on turning over until a bit of gas is applied then it however last night it would not start for a good 10 minutes - i was going to call ford assistance however i knew it wouldnt do it when they arrived, sure enough it then started ok. Between 2 garages it has been in 4 times - the first time the washer jets were replaced however computer s
  10. thanks for the replies - I have been down to our local windscreen company and he said that if its sealed properly it shouldnt come lose - have got it booked in at a garage on tuesday so will see what happens this time matt
  11. Hi, i have an 05 focus which randomly sometimes wont start first time - it needs the accelarator pushed a bit to get it to start. I took it to ford garage A who said it was water getting into spark plugs and changed the washer jets Still did it so took it to ford garage B last week who replaced the spark plugs, leads and coil pack but has done it twice since. not being mechanically minded does anyone else have any thoughts as to what it could be or has experienced it before? whilst im here - also having problems with the windscreen seal coming loose at the top of the screen, again have tak
