My 1.6 LX dosen't have a fuel computer, but I've calculated my mpg via: http://www.guycroft.clara.net/utils/mpg.html A full tank is about 42 litres which will get me between 350 - 375 miles = 37 - 40 mpg. Give it a try!!

Make sure you get the fitting kit which ever one you decide on

Had the car serviced at Julians, Didcot (Ford Dealer). Have to say I'm very unimpressed with customer service. They didn't even bother to wash the car after charging me £196!!! They've stamped the service book but they don't even have a ford emblem on their stamp or any mention of Ford on it come to think of it.... hope I sell it to somebody local when it's time to move on to another one. Cost breakdown: Service items (pollen filter etc) £14 Oil £21 Labour £161 :cry: :cry: :cry: Ford make very good cars but why are the dealers so c***p??

To be honest too much bother. If the system worked OK would have probably installed it better but due to the short comings in the unit didn't bother!!!

I thought it would be but in my opinion it wasn't. Some of the issues I had with it: Would only really work if you kept the tank full, manual recommends that you always use the same petrol pump. The OB connector on the Mk2 focus sits on the wrong side of steering wheel so you end up driving around with the wire getting in the way. The unit only works in metric or US units it didn't work in imperial gallons. All in all was too much bother to keep. Most of the info can be accesed via the ignition sequance that is easily found on the site.

Sold it on here back in the summer. Believe me it wasn't worth the money I paid for it.

yeah sounds about right. One Fraud stealer wanted to charge me £165 for the service and another £65 to do the brake fluid change!!

Yep, mine was used on the mk2.

Have just booked my 1.6 into my local stealer for it's 25K service. Does anybody know what they actually do for the service? So much for the longer life lower cost servicing that Ford keep going on about!!

I used a scangauge 2 for a couple of months. It isn't realy suitable for UK gallons etc and is a real hassle to set up etc. When it worked it was OK but I soon got fed up with it and it spent most of it's life in the glove box!!! Water leaks through, pools around the HT leads and shorts the coil (eventually) It happened to mine!!!!!!

Was wondering if I could swap out my existing dash for one with the computer installed? Anybody heard of this happening or have any information.

Sorry but the new HU looks tacky!!!!! In a car that has predominantly square lines / styling why would you put a HU with rounded corners???

Does anybody know if you can get a filter to go onto the washer bottle? It's so annoying when you get a small twig or bit of grit in the bottle. My old vw golf had one???? : :D
