  1. Just spoken to Ford today. As well as having all the bits to sort my squeeky windows and perished window rubbers they have also admitted to their being problems with some of the ECU software. I hassled them and used the info from this forum, particularly regarding the flat spot when cold. They told me they have just received updated software for the CMax so willdownload it when my car is next in. It didnt appear that they are going to make this info public so any of you with the problems need to do what I did - hassle them. Good luck - I will let you know how successful it is 8)
  2. ortho I had dubious mpg for first coupla tanks. Dealer said its settling in (quite how a computer settles in I dont know) Did what everybody else is suggesting and wrote down when I filled it up and did the sums myself. After a while things did settle down. Averaging about 41mpg. Usually manage 500 to the tank wjich isnt too bad. And dont worry about the average speed on the trip computer. Very very dodgy if you ask me Enjpy the freebies too.
  3. Scooby Doo mines been in five times for the squeek. Theyve replaced the window motors, reriveted the door panels and called in the 'expert' last time. I am now awaiting new door seals. The 'expert' fixed the problem by wedging a cloth between door and car then closing it - miracle eh? I get the squeek when I push the glass too. Personally think its poor quality rubber - but Ford are doing all the expensive bits first..................will let you know if this next fix is successful, but Im not holding my breath.
  4. I know most of us are still trying to sort the basic ECU issues out - but is anybody aware of - or has tried a remap / superchip type upgrade? Ive spoken to BBR and they dont do the CMax as yet. Gonna try a few others Would be interested in anybodys comments :D
  5. Does look quite sweet, appears to have been dropped and lower profile tyres than standard on the 17's. Come on (3)nz0 let us know :?:
  6. Im sure they do - didnt mean to offend. If the finish isnt lacquered be very careful when cleaning them - some wheel cleaning stuff has small print warning against using on unlacquered finishes.
  7. Check under the Shining Stars section - should still be there 8)
  8. Ive gone for the Sony 6 disc option. In my opinion it sounds much better than the standard fit (I listen to a lot of music) and looks waaaaaay better
  9. Black black black black black - simple as that. Anybody who is worried about keeping it clean get a bottle of Meguires Quik Detailer. Absolutely marvelous stuff. Wash the car once a week, but use the detailer whenever its dirty (rain spots etc) takes between 10 and 15 minutes max to do the whole car. Highly recommend the Meguires brand for all aspects of keeping em clean. Go check their website out (check May's gallery - mines on their too
  10. Had mine since May - glad Ive found this forum as have had a few probs myself. The stutter between 1500 -2000 rpm and the clock on the Sony CD unit losing time (think thats something to do with it being linked to the rds or something). But the worst Ive had is the windows creaking. Sounds like the cars gonna fall to pieces on me. Local dealer has had it 5 times now. Replaced the motors, re riveted the door panel. Next try is the door seals - muppets. Also all the exterior window rubbers have perished - Im still on the case to get them replaced too. Otherwise a cracking car. Looking to chip it
  11. Ive done the 9 spoke 17s on black - looks the biz. Will get some photos on soon. Would steer clear of the machined ones - they look a bit strange in real life. Interesting Ive had mine since May and the only real option were the 17's - the machined ones were only available on the Ghia (mines the 2l TDCi zetec) Multispokes much easier to clean than the old standard Focus alloys were as well :)
