  1. Marmite - Please be aware that there are plenty of people on this forum who have the current 2.0 tdci in either focus or c max form and are delighted with them! :) OK, Ive only had mine for a week or so, and I must admit, after reading through this forum, I was getting worried!! I had a 1.8tdci sport beforehand, which was totally fault free - despite the fact that lots of people report problems with them!! My new focus is an absolute delight to drive and I love the performance. Just thought I would get my two'penny worth in and state that it is a simple fact - People will alway
  2. welshade - when ford "have a look" can you ask them about this recall for diesels, as Im getting paranoid now since no-one else seems to have heard anything about it!!!! Andy
  3. Cheers chaps! Front bumper actually isnt too bad, the photos make it look worse. Its funny, but if you look from low down the match seems very good, its just as you get higher, it looks worse?? Perhaps if I was vertically challenged, I would have a colour matched car!! Andy
  4. Got my new 2.0 TDCi Ghia yesterday. :P First impressions are that it is a very, very nice drive - much more refined ride than my previous car - a 1.8 TDCi sport. Only thing Im not overly impressed with are the alloys - they are a bit "old man" for my liking! Only mod to date is an upgraded gear knob - I couldnt resist the ST knob from Ford parts UK. Cant wait to put a few miles on the clock, so that I can open her up a bit! Will post some pics in the next day or so!! Im luvin it! Andy Oh - only issue is the outstanding recall - apparently this affects all 2.0tdci's - somet
  5. cheers Matt 8) Definitely sounds like an ECU mod has been released then! Andy
  6. Hi all, Im due to pick up my new tdci ghia tomorrow :D However, my son who works for Ford, did the PDI and says they couldnt do the latest recall for the "PCM" as his garage does not have the latest software disk. They have ordered it in and will do it when I put the car back for the 1500 mile inspection. He does not know what the recall is for (he is only a 2nd year apprentice) - Does anyone know what this recall is about? Apparently it has to be done on the WDS, so I presume its some kind of ECU upgrade??? Any ideas?? Andy
  7. Cheers Leigh - I could have specified 17s as an option when I ordered the car, however, that would have meant delivery would not have been until christmas at the earliest. Even though we all know it would only take 10 mins to change the alloys, apparently - if you specify the upgrade, the car is classed as special order and you have to join the queue!! Andy
  8. Hi all, Im due to collect my new 2.0tdci in jeans blue next Friday. Its the ghia model, which I had to buy as cruise control is essential and only this model has it. Anyway, the only problem with the ghia is that the alloys are awful looking. :( (IMO) Anyone upgraded yet - or thought about upgrading? Im looking for ideas - my budget is upto around £800 for alloys and tyres. Any thoughts or weblinks to bargains greatly appreciated!!!!!! Andy
  9. nice one mate! My tdci ghia is due to arrive on Friday!! Andy
  10. Thanks sim103 - I didnt realise they were seperate parts! That makes my life a lot easier, cheers mate! Andy
  11. Hi all, Im waiting for my new jeans blue ghia tdci to arrive. (2 weeks hopefully :P ) After seeing the pics posted around the site, Ive decided that I want to get the little black strip above the front fogs colour co-ordinated. It looks like a good way of making the foglight housing look a bit smaller! My question is - how easy is it to remove the frong fog housing and also, how much can I expect it to cost me to have this rubbing strip painted? Im hoping to be able to remove the fog light housings and drop them off at my local bodyshop for the strips to be painted. I dont really want
  12. It may well be, however, I have to say that I take each car as I find it. My current 115 focus has been absolutely fault free over 22000 miles, apart from an oil light which has flashed on 3 times in the past year despite there being a sump full of oil :? - It then goes away once u turn the car off and re-start. Lots of people have the 115tdci and reported all kinds of faults - but you must remember, people are quick to report faults, but dont bother to let us all know when everything is fine! There is another topic on this forum where someone reported faults on the 2.0 tdci, but got lots of
  13. Hi all, after running a 1.8tdci sport for the past year, Ive just taken the plunge and ordered a new style 2.0 tdci ghia. I had the 2.0L TDCi in my mondeo and really missed it when I went to the 115 sport. Anyway, had to go for ghia spec in the new focus, as I really wanted cruise control due to a 500mile fortnightly drive between work and home. Got a really good deal I think - my son works for Ford so managed to get privilege discount, plus a hefty £8k for my sport. - book price was £7700, although it does have full colour co-ord and 6006 stereo. My new ghia is in jeans blue and shoul
