Mine is a privelige purchase as well and I also ticked a lot of the options list entries ( :P ) which I imagine is delaying the build... Hadn't thought about them trying to clear old stock first - takes the proverbial because even if every Ford dealer in the country had thousands of them on the forecourt, I would still want mine to have the options I've asked for and so would need a factory build - would I have to wait for all the others to shift first?!

lol... At least you have an idea when it will turn up - my dealer still can't even get an estimate for delivery....

I ordered my C-MAX on 23rd March this year... Another forum member has contacted me saying they are looking at almost a 5 month wait to get their C-MAX delivered so I have just phoned my dealer to find out what is going on. He isn't very impressed with Ford either, as my car still isn't showing with a scheduled build date, never mind a delivery date. He mentioned that the system has recently changed so instead of them being able to phone and enquire as to the estimated build and delivery dates they now have to email and await a response. He contacted them yesterday and has heard nothing.

I can't believe I am seeing this - its like a "Spot the deliberate mistake" competition! I know I have got into a lot of cars as a passenger in my time that have the phone cradle digging into my knee but the C-MAX is a big car and has the space for the phone to be out of the way. The picture you have posted is laughable - even without being a Ford technician its pretty obvious to see the cradle should be attached to the dash extension that I assume has been fitted as part of the pre-equipment pack. Bloody muppets!

It took me quite a few goes to get it to work on the ST170 - felt like a right numpty :oops: I would be surprised if locking the doors sets the deadlocks as well due to safety reasons as you mentioned. You could test it as you will be able to hear the secondary 'motor' noise of the deadlocks as you do when you press the remote locking for the second time to arm them.

I know what you mean - I programmed my ST170 to only open my door at the first click but it is a pain if I forget and other people are trying to get into the car! I find locking and unlocking to be the easiest way to open them all.

I've tried all sorts over the years... Good old fashioned fairy liquid with a sponge and a bit of elbow grease can be good for heavy stains. I always found wonder wheels to be better than the Meguirs stuff - was never that impressed with it.

Good stuff - I programmed my ST170 to do it and really like the feature - makes me feal all that extra safe!! I had to turn the ignition on, lock and unlock the doors three times; turn the ignition off, lock and unlock three times; ignition back on and another three cycles.... Or something like that! Neighbours must have thought I was going mad!

I've gone with the SAT NAV with the six disc just for the versatility... I like the idea of having six discs in the car all the time with the option of swapping the single disc full of MP3's - I'll never run out of music! As far as six weeks goes, I've just placed an order that will be a fresh build and am looking at maybe 12 weeks :o Hopefully it will be a lot sooner!

Are you sure?! The only reason I ask is that when I went in to the dealers on Tuesday night the cool box was still listed as an option if you had the Ghia with premium centre console, not as part of the standard spec. I wonder were customer services confusing the premium centre console over the standard one? Or maybe they are just combining them now as standard? Would be nice if they did :-)

Just one other question... With the DVD touchscreen sat nav, is there also another display in between the tacho and speedo to disply simple turn arrows, above the trip computer? I've seen them in the brochue but wondered if it is a feature or just some creative photoshopping?!

I managed £16k on the road... Not sure if it is a good figure or not but the monthly figures (bought on options) were good enough... One thing I've noticed, even though on the Ford website it says that the C-MAX is at 3.9% APR, I've not found any deals actually offering that! Am I missing something?! Or is this not available in conjunction with a privilege sale?

Funnily enough I was in the dealers last night 'negotiating'! I've had a nightmare getting shut of the ST170 - its only a year old but has above average mileage and is the base model. My local dealer offered me £10k but I managed to get £11.5k for it - not great but I'm just not in a position to sell it privately as I work away and need the car to travel... I didn't lose too much though over the initial purchase price. I've ordered the C-MAX Ghia 2.0 TDCi stage III in panther black, with xenons, DVD sat nav with 6 disc, phone kit and privacy glass. Can't wait to get it!!!

Do you have to have the sat nav DVD in when using the navigation software? Or can you have a CD / MP3 disc in and still use it?

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to set the C-MAX to auto lock the doors when pulling away, similar to the five door Focus? Thanks.

Could someone post a decent picture of the Ghia dashboard, specifically looking at the instrument binnacle and the trip computer thing please? Can't seem to find one! Thanks.

Where is the card holder?! Also, are the storage pockets on top of the dash any use for things like large road maps or are they not that big?
