  1. The things you have to pay for are the diagrams and manuals. It is a useful site for finding out the build date etc for your car and the specific service schedule (all free).
  2. You can buy the diagrams from ford online through ETIS.
  3. No, it doesn't show the service history on ETIS but you can find the schedule on there.
  4. The difficulty getting into 1st is common on many cars. It is to do with the position of the cogs and the syncromesh. If you have the problem, release gear lever back into neutral and lift the clutch befire trying again. Chances are it will just slip in!
  5. We have just bought a Motability 1.8 Zetec and the book is fully stamped up. I think it is covered by the lease cost anyway so there is no reason for it not to be done. Go to http://www.etis.ford.com/ and register (it's free) and you can download the service details.
  6. The new CMax has different rear lights. They look to be the same shape but are LED's inside instead of normal bulbs.
  7. Will the new LED lights fit straight on an 04 C-Max?
  8. I have provisionally ordered an 04 plate 1.8 Zetec for the Mrs via a dealer. The car has apparently only done 6,000 miles and has a FFSH. We haven't paid anything yet as they are getting the car shipped down from oop north for us to look at and test drive before making any commitment. I believe that it is an ex-Motability car if that makes any difference. What should we check for when we see it?
  9. register on www.etis.ford.com (it's free) and by entering your reg number it will tell you. Another way is to look for the sticker under the bonnet.
  10. I have heard that the squeal is a warrranty job with new pads but if th ecar has the electric handbrake, it does eat pads and disks. I would expect pads on the back of a normal car to last around 40,000 with disks lasting twice as long. That said, when I bought my Laguna, at 42,000 miles, it needed new disks and pads all round. Did another 30,000 in that piece of crap and the one thing it didn't need was brake parts in that mileage.
